Greetings. I am Commander Spock of the USS Enterprise, a Starfleet contingent of the United Federation of Planets. I understand that we are temporally isolated as well as spatially displaced and that this is not a subdivision of any one possible multiverse, neither a pocket dimension of any one universe, but a unique quantum singularity linking many and each possible variation thereof. If others here have scientific findings of this nature, I pre-emptively extend my gratitude in the event of any information being divulged.
[ AKA pls share ur theories. He's not human, in case anyone with eyes and ears missed the blatant memo staring them in the face, the approximation of what would happen were a dollop of raw science and a great jawline to get mixed with an elf in a blender. Spock pauses thoughtfully, glancing away, and a single slender brow arches when he looks back; there are likely a great deal of customs to be observed from numerous new species and races, none of which he seeks to offend. ]
It has been brought to my attention that this is not my first foray into Keeliai. While I would request that you exert a measure of patience with my ... freshly acquired outlook, you will find me amenable to revisiting former acquaintances. [ Again he hesitates, though this time it comes across as more of an amendment. If you've been hanging out with his BFF, prepare to explain why, how and to what end. ] Similarly, I wish to meet with any and all allies of Captain James T. Kirk at their earliest convenience.
All remaining Starfleet personnel are to submit a fully comprehensive report effective immediately regarding their time here. Audio will suffice, given the circumstances.
[ And off goes the feed. ]
action
[ Which he isn't okay with, but logic dictates the Federation will hold off making any overt moves in such a delicate situation. ]
While we are here, of course, the point is moot. [ Jim is down the road, after all. ] In order to complete a comprehensive log, I must inquire whether you have received any orders from the captain while in this city.
action
My standing orders are not to engage Khan and to leave all diplomatic matters regarding the Emperor to the Captain or to you.
action
I am amending the captain's order regarding Khan. In the event of an altercation coming to pass, you will belay any instruction from Captain Kirk that you believe would allow him to face Khan on his own and to evacuate him from proceedings immediately.
[ Jim isn't dying again for any reason linked to that bastard. Not if Spock's here. Neither, he thinks, will the crew allow for it to happen again. ]
In regards to physiology, I am far better suited to dealing with an Augment and cannot be so easily wounded. You will inform me that my presence is required.
[
So he can beat the shit out of him again, if necessary.]action
[There's stubborn and then there's Jim Kirk.
Also so not impressed with the commander's proclamation. He'd rather neither of them risked themselves. But he's prudent enough not to say it.]
Do you have a communicator? I have a few prototypes that will work, if not.
action
[ Jim can get pissed off at Spock as much as he wants, it's better to have an angry captain than a dead one. ]
I do not, as I arrived directly off the bridge, and I would welcome any device of your making.
[ Pseudo-compliment? Maybe. Chekov's skills are almost en par with Mr. Scott's, it's simple fact. ]
action
I don't think I could... I mean, I'm not sure about that. Sir.
[He's pretty sure there are regs about stunning your captain.]
action
[ Or does he have to take issue with where you stand on this, Ensign? ]
We speak of last resorts, Mr. Chekov. I expect you to first use your not inconsiderable wits.
action
Aye, Commander.
[He digs through his bag and produces something that looks sort of like a Razr.]
Here is a communicator-- I have already synced it to the Captain's, Doctor McCoy's, and my own. In case you had come without one.
action
action
It is possible but the equipment available to us would require a lot of modification. I would also have to account for the time disparity and unknown spatial displacement.
The chances of success are slim, but they are there.
action
[ Nothing for it in the interim but to keep tabs on Khan and assist the emperor. ]
What is your opinion of the resident government?
action
action
[ Only totally not, because space!family comes first. ]
I have one last question before you are dismissed. To your knowledge, has anyone attempted a telepathic connection with the turtle?
action
[He's been keeping a low profile so far, just in case.]
Yes. It was a teenager named Percy Jackson. He said the process left him dazed: the turtle-- Asti's-- mind is too great, too... ancient.
action
Very well, Ensign. If you will leave your tricorder with me for the time being, you are dismissed.
[ He'd say thank you for attending, but. He won't, because it's Spock. ]
action
Ah, I just remembered! They expect us to work here-- Stark Industries is interested in people with our skills.
action
[ Once he's through taking care of the captain's welfare, since Spock is the only officer who can see Jim broken. It wouldn't do to leave him fractured for all the others to witness. ]
action
[And now he's actually on his way out. If he thinks of anything else, he'll just call.]
