[It's been awhile since Bianca's made a network post, but here she is again.]

This is going to be on the long side, but I have a few announcements regarding the clinic to make, and then something regarding Thanksgiving. [If the clinic info doesn't keep people's attention, the thought of food certainly will.]

First off, the kedan are expecting winter weather and cold temperatures to hit us soon, and the Dr. Natu clinic [Even if Soranik isn't here anymore, it makes sense to keep calling it that] received vouchers for warm clothing. If you don't have the funds to purchase winter clothing like coats, especially if you're a new arrival, stop by our clinic here in Earth, [Directions to the building here, with a location ping] and pick one up.

Ours isn't the only clinic to get these vouchers, so if there's one closer to you, you don't need to make your way out here.

Second, once a week from this point onward, we're also going to be offering classes on basic first aid, what to do in case of medical emergencies, and general health classes, among others. These are open to everyone, including the kedan, and while we'll be charging for each class, it's to help fund the clinic and to pay for the supplies for the basic first aid classes. If you don't have any experience with first aid, I heavily suggest signing up, since we'll also be including a first aid kit with the first aid classes.

We'll also be having a full staff day on these same days. If you haven't had a physical or checkup recently, the full staff days would be the best time to get one, especially with cold weather approaching.

Finally, on a more personal note, since we had Halloween about a week ago, [Even if that went badly with all the disappearances going on] for a lot of us, that means that Thanksgiving is a few weeks away. I know not everyone celebrates it, and that not everyone has family or friends from where they came from here with them, but I want to invite everyone here to EA-1A for Thanksgiving dinner in three weeks if they want to join Jaime and me, and you don't have other plans.

If you decide to come, feel more than free to bring something along with you if you like for the table.

[Bianca's fortunately not busy with a patient at the moment, instead, she's at her desk in the front, writing something, when she looks up.

With that sort of expression on his face, she's definitely expecting something, especially since he came to the clinic.

Hi there. Is something going on?

[With a smile, he places a pouch on the counter, opens it, and pulls out--

Well, it's a stone. But it also looks-- well, like it has a tint mildly unnatural to it, not quite a glow.]

It's warmer than it looks, but it won't burn.

[That's... new. And she can immediately think of a couple of uses for it, too.]

Are these able to be used as personal warmers?

[Yep, definitely pleased with himself, this one.]

Absolutely. I'd suggest wrapping them in a cloth. I don't know why I didn't think of it earlier.

[A slight nod at the cloth suggestion.]

How do they work?

[They're interesting, but she she needs to know more to make any decisions.]

How to-- hmm.

[See, generally, he'd just sigh, shrug, and try not to go into details because no one understands furies. But he actually likes and respects Bianca; she gets special treatment.

There's ambient heat all around us. Some of that has been pulled together and stored in the stone. Essentially. I reinforced the stone a bit to make sure it can handle the extra--energy.

[Beat.] This was just a test of how quickly and how many I can warm at once.

[She'd appreciate the effort if she knew.]

They needed to be reinforced? How safe are they?

We get some number of accidents every year, most often due to gross stupidity or carelessness.

[He assumes those are universal.]

As long as no one goes shattering things with hammers, it'll be fine. Besides, I can probably strengthen them... not indestructibly, as there's just one of me and not years of preparation, but as close as I can manage.

[Very universal.

She nods at what he has to say.]

And if someone did manage to break one of these?

It would be releasing a contained fire. How severe the results would depend on how much energy there was in it to start.

[He's not scientist enough to think of running rigorous tests naturally, but now that it occurs to him... Some private time away from people may be called for.]

Lukewarm, or the kind you'd put on an aching muscle, probably not too much worse than a broken furylamp--dropping a torch may be analogous. Obviously, from there it gets worse.

[There are plenty of possible applications for these that she can think of right now. Even if not used directly for patients they'd be useful for warmth anyways, which would be much safer.]

So, potentially dangerous, but everything can be if it's mishandled.

[The sort of things she's seen while working in the ER has only proven that true.]
