But she, too, can focus on business at hand and put their personal situation on the back burner for the moment. ]

There are a couple residents who have been killed. They're fine now - evidently, you can't die for good here until you move out of this plane of existence, but I'm still trying to find the person or persons responsible.

It seems that not many people have even heard of them, too. Admittedly, we have other things going on, but it's worrisome that no one's been warned to be on their guard.

She wants to escape first, but if somebody's going to be killing them off, that has to be taken care of first. What kind of captor would let their soldiers just be slaughtered?]

[ Sharon freezes, if only for a moment. In the past year, she's buried her aunt, met another version of her, and then lost the other aunt as well. She presses her lips together and nods. ]

She's my aunt.

I met a woman by that name when I arrived. I'm sorry I didn't get to know her better than I did.

I was only a government agent, Mr. Wayne. Truth is, without access to SHIELD databases and forensics, I feel more than a little out of my depth.

[ Yes, that's modesty. And a tiny little lie, too. She expects whoever's killing people may well sort through this conversation sooner or later and doesn't want to tip her hand. ]

But enough about me. How are you doing?

I'm perfectly well, thank you. My science division is up and running, as you may have seen. It only took me a year.

[A little chuckle of amusement. Because honestly! He's rich, you know. Things should just fall right into his lap.]

I suspect they'll stop if the perpetrator disappears, but until that happens, yes, I think he or she is still among us. I'd be able to tell you more if I knew more, but unfortunately, people are being tight-lipped.

If nothing else, it might be a good idea to compile and disseminate some basic safety tips - you know, the buddy system, that kind of thing.

[Shepard's more military and less investigator, but she'll concern herself with public safety while others do the leg work on finding the sicko.]

There was more than one? [He had seen the one girl post to the network about it, and he could almost kick himself that he didn't know about the others.]

What agency were you with?

Yes. And I expect more if the person isn't caught and doesn't disappear.
