[This is Asami. This is Asami wrapped up like an enchilada in a thick, dark red blanket while she faces the screen. It's her first time with a recording like this—the technology is beyond even the movers Varrick produced—so she proceeds self-consciously.

That isn't to say she wasn't eager to try it out. The tape on the side of her console is indication of that, but it's out of sight of the viewer.]

Well, here I am. I've had some time to think about what I wanted to say, but to be honest I don't even know where to begin.

But we're all comrades here, right? So my name's Asami, and I'm a... [businesswoman? What kind of sales approach is that? She straightens her back.] I'm the chief executive officer of my family's company at home in Republic City. We're known for our automobiles and weaponry, and I have experience with each of our products. Not that I see myself getting comfortable here, but if I can make myself useful in a company running somewhere along those lines, then I think that would be a good place to start.

[She visibly deflates after the spiel, mustering a small smile.] So I guess I'll see you guys around! Go ahead and introduce yourselves if you have time. I think I could use some faces to call familiar.

[ Damian only takes a moment to remember, and his eyes widen very slightly. He hadn't realized it's been so long. ]

Almost a year ago. Within less than a week.

[ Nor as precise, for that matter. ]

But if you do not recall about that, it should not affect you - it was merely a fact that you likely should be aware of.

[Isn't that eerie. She musters a weary smile at the corners of her lips for him.]

Hey, maybe this'll be an annual thing. Thanks for letting me know, Damian.

[She looks down briefly, then back up at him.]

—So you've been here for at least a year, then?

[ For a moment, Damian's face brightens, a tiny bit. Because even a tired smile is very pr-- aesthetically pleasing, and he can't not enjoy it, a little bit. ]

It is not a problem.

And - I have been here nearly a year and a half. I... hope it is not quite as cyclic.

[ A corner of his mouth twists up, in a wry expression that doesn't quite match the term 'smile'. ]

Watching people leave can be rather disconcerting.

Oh. That's quite a long time... [She withholds an apology for him, but her voice takes an empathetic tone.] Do you see people come and go a lot?

[ Damian actually appreciates that. Or would, if he'd thought it was a possibility. Asami... in his book, is among the not-stupid people, and this only goes to affirm it. ]

Not the actual arrival, let alone leaving.

[ He has to clarify that point, just in case. ]

But, yes. There are very few people who have been here as long as I have.

I would ask if you are finding Keeliai to your liking, but it is probably a better question whether you have had - an informative introduction to it, yet. And, if not, if you are looking for one.

It's a little soon to tell if I like it or not, but I'm sure I would think otherwise under different circumstances. I've received basic information about this place, in any case.

[A beat, as she debates interpreting his question as an offer.]

... But I don't want to take up too much of your time.

The consideration is appreciated, but I can assure you that if I have urgent business, I will let you know.

[ Correct interpretation is correct. Damian doesn't know if and what may be different with Asami, not even can he judge if she's from a later or earlier time than before. But he can help with this place, as much as possible, can't he? ]
