I guess I should start off saying happy New Year. Even if it feels strange saying that. [Stranger still that she's been here this long.]

I don't really do New Years resolutions myself. If people want to change, they should do it. Not because it's some sort of gimmick. Besides as strange as it sounds this is the most normal I've ever really had.

[She sighs.] I should probably stop waiting for the other shoe to drop.

And I guess the turtle here does have its good points.

Less good points and more the negatives here aren't quite the level they are back home. Plus I'm alive.

And you weren't at home? Alive, I mean?

[She knew people talked about things being in-between life here, or something like that.]

I was, but someone told me it doesn't last long. [Great thing to find out, right?]

Someone from your future then? And they told you something like that?

He's gone now. It doesn't matter. [At least that's what she keeps telling herself.]

Of course it matters. I would be pissed if some guy showed up and told me when I was going to die. Doesn't it make you angry?

It did at first. But everyone dies, and someone else I know confirmed it so-- [What could she do but eventually accept it. She doesn't want to die. She fought like hell to not die. But there's not much she can really do except try and live her life here.]
