Alright, from what I hear this place is in need of heroes and the like. So much so in fact that they’ve started kidnapping people right off the street. Now I don’t mean to criticize your emperor, but that’s exactly what I’m going to do. Generally it’s considered good manners to ask someone for help instead of just grabbing them by their short and curlies and just dragging them off somewhere.

Maker, at least people in Kirkwall gave me the illusion of choice before asking me to do something stupid and dangerous. They usually pay me too.

Since I’m here I may as well play along. Chances are this is all some kind of Fade...dream...thing, so what’s the worst that can happen? Besides the possibility of demonic possession.

From what I know, the Fade is where people go when they dream. Mages get their power from it and demons and spirits and the like lurk about in it.

Not a real fun place the last time I visited it.

Is it universal that the dreaming find themselves there? How do your sorcerers siphon energy from it? And why would it be populated by spirits? Is it the land of the dead as well?

All very good questions. It's a real shame that I haven't got a clue.

[Hawke gives the most cheerful smile he can muster. Maybe he could have answered that if had paid any attention to his father's lessons on the subject when he was younger, but he sister was the other mage in the family. He was too busy having fun to care about any of that as a child.]

If you want to know ask a mage. Or the Chantry. Both have their own answers on the matter that generally blame the other for something.

Wonderful advice apart from the fact I don't know where or what this Chantry is and the fact I am a mage. All of these are concepts from your native zone, not mine. Hence my curiosity.

A mage huh? Then you're better off not knowing anything about the Chantry. Looking like that they'd probably kill you on sight. Standard Chantry protocol is to kill something that looks strange and uses magic.

[And Hawke can't exactly judge this guy for looking weird. After all one of his friends started glowing blue and bellowing about justice every time he got worked up.]
