Welp. I'm getting kinda sick of this part of life here. Any old time we can stop with the random vanishings, that'd be stellar.

Isaac Lahey's suite is empty. He's gone. No idea when that happened. Allison Argent also vanished earlier this month. So that's a thing that's happened.

So, now that my abandonment issues have really been given plenty of fuel to last me through at least my mid-life crisis, a question. Last month due to the generosity of Tony Stark, I got my jeep back. Through careful conservation, I've managed to keep her running.

Except now a certain little dial is hovering just above the E on the left, and I'm kinda screwed. Anybody know where a guy can get his hands on some highly-refined petroleum? I'm not picky, the jeep can run on 87 octane, don't need any of that high-falutin' 93 stuff. Because, you know, the back of a giant turtle is probably full of crude oil deposits.

[ That... probably came out wrong, and for the first time, Elle looks worried. ]

[ She should have convinced him that the lightning wasn't real. Denied all knowledge or something. Damn it. ]

[ Her face falls. Yes, she knows. And she knows why, and it doesn't help. And she wishes she weren't messed the fuck up but she doesn't know how to be. Another trail of lightning dances briefly along her cheek, but other than a faint flinch, she ignores it. ]

I panicked.

[ It sounds almost like a whine. It's an excuse. That's what Daddy would say. She should have been perfect, she should have done everything better. He would be so disappointed if he were here to see this, but at the same time she wishes he were just so he could tell her what she did wrong and what she needs to do next. ]

Just shut up, okay? You don't know anything about me. And I'm not going to risk shorting out my console just because you want to be an asshole.

[He rubs a hand down his face. Why is it always his turn to deal with the crazies? Does he have a sign on his back or something?]

Yes, actually. That's how this works. I don't say anything, and in exchange I live. If I break my word, I die. You're the one setting the parameters of the deal here.

[ She sighs. She just can't win today, can she. ]

For what it's worth, it's not like I want to kill you. You're cute.

[ That's the best she can do in terms of empathy, Stiles. Sorry. ]

[Although honestly, now that he's seeing just how crazy she is, he's feeling a little bad for her. Stiles is such a soft-touch for violent threats, jeez.]

It must be a pretty big deal where you come from, huh? Keeping your powers secret?

[ Elle just looks miserable. ]

Do you know what they'll do to me if they find out I'm the one who- [ There's another string of lightning, this time running from her nose to her shoulder before it dissipates. She leans away from the console, hugging herself. ]

I've gotta go, but you really are cute and thanks I guess for not telling.

[Why is he so nice to people who threaten him or ignore him? A mystery for the ages.]

...Okay. But, seriously, my lips are sealed.

If anybody tries to hurt you, let me know. I'll come and put a stop to it, okay?

[ She looks confused for several moments, then uncomfortable. ]

[ She grins, the death threats already a mile behind where her thoughts currently are. ]

My batteries are good for now. But I might just take you up on that someday.

Awww. You're sweet. It almost makes up for how mean you were earlier.

[ From her smile, she sees nothing wrong with what she's chosen to say. Factual inaccuracies? Whatever could he mean? ]

[Yup. He's sticking by his 'messed the fuck up' assessment from earlier. Although now he's just not saying it aloud.]

[ Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaait. How's she going to come up with a nickname for him if she hasn't seen his body and doesn't know his name? ]

[And sure enough he does. There are...a lot of consonants. Right in a row. It's incredibly Polish. And incredibly difficult to pronounce. And he grins at her over the video.
