[He thought a good night’s sleep would cure him from this weariness, but when he woke up in the room he remembered seeing in his dream well that was more than enough information to let him know this was real. It’s not the giant turtle that gets to him or even this sector with canals and fountains. No, it all reminds him of home. What gets him is him being drafted into some unknown war by some noble. That’s unreal. Maybe if he were a knight, it’d be different, but he discarded that idea some time ago.
Playing with the console he was taught how to use, he figured he may as well see if he can really transmit a message. If he was fooled, well, it’ll make him look like an idiot to anyone within an earshot of him. If he wasn’t, then this would be a good way to find some useful information.]
So, we’ve been brought here to fight a war, right? I’m sure that’s a question you’ve all heard lots of time from newbies like me. I get that, really, but shouldn’t I get some say in whether I want to fight? [His voice sounds weary, still tired from all this despite getting sleep. More or less finding displeasure in this situation.] Whatever, I’m stuck here, aren’t I? May as well do what I can. [Not that he sounds enthusiastic about this.]
Is there some sort of training facility around? I mean, if they want us to fight, we gotta keep up with our skills, right? If not, I’d love to have a sparring partner or two. [He grins at this point, excited at the thought of fighting otherworldy people. Are they strong? Can they actually put a scratch on him? If they can kick his ass then that’s even better. It’ll help Yuri get stronger.]
Also, I was told I needed to ‘find a job’. [He almost scoffs at this statement. The only jobs he’s had are guild jobs. Oh, and being a knight, but that didn’t go well.] I’m pretty handy with a sword and a spatula, so there’s my resume. [Cooking is even better because that gets him close to sweets to satiate his sweet tooth. He’d call that pretty even pay.]
Well, hope this went through. If not, then I probably made myself sound like an idiot trying. [He gives a lopsided grin, chuckling at the end as he’s trying to figure out how to send this and turn it off. After a few seconds of fumbling, he finally gets it.]

You could always start a catering business, and hire people to do your deliveries for you. There's a dearth of decent chefs in Keeliai, I'm afraid.
[Bruce has had to learn - simple enough in theory, thanks to the practical application of knowledge that cooking is simply a branch of chemistry, but he misses Alfred's recipes.]
She's also on the lookout for teachers, I believe, she was soliciting for them a while ago after her principle trainer left, so if you're skilled enough to warrant it you might consider volunteering.
video;
Still, glad I could be of service here if need be.
[He chuckles.]
As for your friend? 'Fraid teaching's not my forte. I kinda fight in my own style so that might make it hard to really teach, but I wouldn't mind trying if you needed one.
[Really, he has a hard time saying no to things like this. Teaching self-defense and fighting skills is a good thing and should be taught and learned by others.]
video;
[You know, options. Someone's gotta help the newbies out.]
Anything can be learned if it's taught by the proper teacher. There's too many people here that are defenseless.
[A slight pause and then with a bit of amusement and no small amount of resignedly hopeful curiosity,]
I don't suppose your style incorporates golfclubs and thoroughbreds?
video;
Though I'm pretty sure I can't keep up with a bakery. [There's a pause on his part. So he gets an offer from one guy to cook for him, another option to work in a bakery. Somehow, this could go together pretty well?] Still, it's an option. It'd be nice to have a full kitchen to work with.
[Though at the next point, Yuri nods. This guy's got a point.]
And that's not something we want right now. Though as for my style, I just fight with a sword, but I fight my way.
video;
Point taken! You sound like something of a terror in the kitchen. In a good way, of course. I once managed to ruin tunafish, to my son's utter dismay.
[It was a special time in his life.]
So you're-- a knight? Some manner of adventurer?
video;
He laughs at that story of the tuna fish.] Can't be any worse than someone making a sandwich by slapping a raw egg between two slices of bread. Though how do you ruin tunafish?
[Probably the same way his best friend ruins every dish, he'd imagine.
At the next inquiry he shakes his head.]
While I could be considered an adventurer, I'm no knight. Gave that up some time ago.
video;
Some things are best left to the annals of history, I'm afraid. Though if you happen across Timothy Drake, he may regale you with the specific horrors at some prompting.
[aka: rat him out. Because that's what sons do to their dads, obviously.]
Ah? But you were a knight, then.
video;
Why do people pester him about being a knight? Oh well...]
For three short months.
video;
[Bruce reaches for a cup of coffee at his elbow and takes a slow, languid drink. He does seem interested in the subject matter, at least.]
video;
[Yeah, he can tell the other guy is interested and he'd rather not talk about it.]
video;
Of course, if you'd rather not discuss the topic I'm certain we could focus on something else. How are you finding Keeliai so far?
video;
This place? Can't say I've formed an opinion quite yet. Not exactly a fan of being brought here all of a sudden, though.
video;
[This is the longest he's ever been away from Gotham, after all, and Bruce has to remain constantly on guard against losing his edge.]
video;
Is it really a vacation when you were doing something kind of important where you're from? Well, maybe it's a sign we weren't doing the right thing, but I thought it was better than the alternative.
