[The video flickers on to show a large pair of blinking blue eyes, and relays a voice muffled by the ridiculously close proximity to the microphone. ]

“--ng supposed to what? Oh.”

[The blue eyes are suddenly pulled back to a much more comfortable distance, and a girl comes into view, her brows bent as she skeptically looks toward the camera. She looks really tired and worn out...she's new here.]

“Yeah, I guess I’m not really used to the idea of this thing…” [A sigh, and a curl of the shoulders in a shrug. It won't hurt to try, at least.]

[Her expression quickly mellows into a calm but forced bright smile, though worry stays rooted behind a professional, gentle stoic of deep blue.]

“I’m Katara,” [she explains, motioning a slender hand toward her chest.] “And, um.. I guess I’m new here." [Under her breath, she adds:] "Even if… this is a really bad time…”

[She sighs and shakes her head, her brows furrowing as she looks into the camera to explain. Her arms wrap around her absently.]

“A close friend of mine got hurt while protecting me, and I was going to heal him, but now I’m here and I don’t know what’s happened to him. O-Or any of the others…”

[Her eyes widen a little, and she looks down for a moment as if realizing something else as the last words leave her mouth, then returns her gaze to the camera, filled with an urgent determination.]

“Please, if any of you have any news on my world, could you tell me?”

[She's clearly surprised by the quick reply, but grimaces a little when she realizes how silly it was for her to forget to elaborate. People are from all over, right?]

I'm from the Southern Water Tribe. It's, uh... [What had they referred to it as...?] ...part of the World of the Avatar? Aang. He's our Avatar.

I'm Katara, by the way--[Wait, she just said that...erg.] Who are you?

[ahah. A ha ha ha... Wan grimaced a little. this was the girl Aang and Zuko had talked about and he hadn't even thought to connect that Katara with the one he was talking to. He felt like such a heel.]

Right. That makes sense...

[He politely cleared his throat before smiling once more.]

Hi! The answer is yes, there are. Um... What was the last thing you remember? Before coming here?

[She brightened almost immediately.]

There are more from my world?!

[Good! She wasn't alone'! But...what did that mean...? What had happened? What was happening back home? She sobered quickly and responded.]

I was with Zuko... He was fighting with Azula, his sister, and he....he....

[Her eyes slid away from the camera, and she swallowed to clear her throat. THere was nothing she could do now., for him
Or any of the others who, for all she knew, might have been even worse off.]

He got hurt protecting me,. I was going to heal him, but then ...

[Tears gather t the corners of her eyes, but she fights them and sweeps them away, shaking her head as she forces her gaze back to the screen.]

They brought me here I guess,...

Not that Zuko got hurt or that you were brought here before you could help him! I mean that it's great you remember that! That you remember him getting hurt, I mean!

[A dull clunk from Korra dropping her dumbell is all there is when the Avatar's face suddenly appears on her console.]

Did you say Katara?

[Her face is in utter disbelief as she takes in the girl on her monitor.]

[Katara blinks and looks to Korra's screen, surprised and confused about the older girl's expression.]

Um...Yes, that's me.

[her expression shifts, as she tries to place the other girl's face. She's sure they haven't met, but there must be some reason she's so shocked.]

Are you from the northern water tribe?!

[The prospect of finding someone--anyone!-- from her world is exciting, though she's aware she could be very wrong. This girl /looks/ like she must be water tribe, though she's never met her. She'd know if she was from her own tribe, right?]

[WHY IS SHE SO YOUNG?]

But that's not important. I'm from the Southern Water Tribe. [Breathing. Breathing is important. That and she needs to not put things off like she did with Zuko. There's no reason to, not when she's in a more stable condition than he is.] I'm Avatar Korra. And...you're my waterbending master.

[Man, if this isn't awkward then Korra has no idea what is.]

[She's not... but she IS from her world! Katara brightens visibly onscreen, and continues to listen. What she is told clearly shocks her, and for a moment, she thinks it must be a joke.]

Wait, what? That can't be true... Aang is the avatar, and I've never met you.

[She realizes half a second later how rude she might sound.]

No, I know how confusing things can be when you arrive on the turtle.

[Well, she had no idea whether or not this girl was from the same world she was--Earth was kind of big, after all--but she took note of the the part where she talked about that friend of hers.]

I know I'm on a giant turtle. And that I should get my bending back soon. And they told me not to say the word on the paper...

It all seemed like pretty routine stuff from the way they said it. But none of that can help Zuko back home!

{Iron considered this. He didn't know all of the details of what Katara had been doing during the war, but he could think of several times her healing abilities had been used. None of which he had been present for, of course.}

Well, that could be a complicated question.

[She's worn out and confused, but more than pleased to see a familiar face. If he was here... She wasn't the only one from her world!]

I've been here for some time. Time doesn't quite flow the same way as it does back home. Well, it does, but I've seen enough people around to believe it when I'm told that events back home are waiting for me to get back.

[She looks back at the old man on the screen, her heart heavy. Her voice drops to just above a whisper as she turns her face away.]

I'll take care of him, as soon as I get back, I promise.

I am sorry, I can't give you any information about your world... [Toul is sorry for that since this girl seems rather worried.] But I can tell you that they told me when we're brought here time comes to a halt somehow. So even though you're here, when you return, you'll back to when you left.

[A small smile, though she looks away. She can see the kind pity in the other's expression, and she's grateful, despite her need.] Thank you. I guess it's better knowing something right?

From the information I have gathered nothing will have changed when you go back home. If your friend was in need of healing he'll probably still need it when you get back, but the good news is he won't be any worse.

That's the main theory we're going with, yes. Apparently when someone goes back home they do not remember being here at all either, but I'm investigating that- we are here, we're living here no matter for how long.

We should be allowed to remember it.
