[You know... getting use to all of that technology that keeps cropping up back home is one thing, but this is ridiculous. Everything was explained to him, and he knew the basics but... Tonraq still fumbles a bit with the console. A deep frown on his face as he does so, which shows when he finally activates the video feed.
He then blinks once upon realizing that its broadcasting. Then, clearing his throat, he begins to speak in that deep voice of his.]
I am Chief Tonraq of the Southern Water Tribe, and I just recently arrived.
[This is hardly the best time for him to be here, but it looks like he has to deal with it.]
I've been told that others from my world are also here. I don't suppose any of you would know my daughter, Korra.

Of the few people from their world that Wan had greeted so far, this was the first one he felt a little bit of hesitance for. And he really wasn't sure why. Something about hearing that just make him nervous. Like... he had to be sure to really impress the guy if he said hello at all. He didn't want to screw up like he had with Katara and make Korra's dad mad or worried... or upset at Korra because of a mistake Wan made.
And what if Korra had already responded? What if she'd already told her dad all about him and Aang? Spirits, he would be an utter embarrassment of an Avatar if he said something as stupid as he had with Katara.
There was visible trepidation on Wan's behalf when he finally responded with a smile and a wave.]
I do. Hello.
[Big Grin. Make a good impression.]
Video
Kind of like how he felt when he first met Senna's father.
Suspicious.]
Hello.
Who are you, and how do you know my daughter?
[Tonraq folds his arms and gives Wan a serious frown.]
Video
The grin disappeared and gave way to a wide catdeer-in-headlights look.]
Uh... I'm Wan. She's... a friend? Sort of?
Video
Sort of?
You haven't been getting her into any trouble, have you?

Chief Tonraq of the Southern Water Tribe?
[That can't be right.]
....The Southern Water Tribe?

That's right.

[She shakes her head, as she quickly reminds herself: People are pulled from different times. Her defensive greeting falls apart quickly.]
You must be from my future, then!
[She pauses again, and offers a somewhat sheepish smile.]
Sorry, It's just...my dad is Chief during my time. I'm Katara. It's nice to meet you.. Chief Tonraq.
[Great... now she really misses her family again...]
Sorry for the confusion... I'm kind of new here, myself...

It's all right. Who-
[And then everything in his brain screeches to a hault as he registers her name.]
You said your name is Katara?
[Surely it can't be the same Katara he knows.]

You're Korra's dad?

Re: video;
My name is Jack Frost, sir.
[ He isn't sure if that's the right mode of address for a chief, but it seems about right for a stern father. ]
video;
[Yes, sir is just fine.]
How long has she been here?

A happy bark from Naga stirs her, but her eyes fly open when she hears the words ‘My daughter, Korra.’ and the deep, timbre tone that carries clearly through the speakers.]
Dad...? [She’s met with her father’s face after lifting her head and she rubs some sleep out of her eyes, trying to see if it’s a dream; if her whole time on Tu Vishan is finally getting to her.]
video;
Korra! Sweetheart, are you all right?
video;
Dad! [She shook her head. Partly as an answer and partly because she couldn't believe this was happening. But she swallows hard to clear her throat.] I haven't seen in you in so long. Where are you?
video;
I'm in the Earth Sector. EA-2B I think its called. It sounds like we have a lot of catching up to do.
[If from what the others were saying is any indication at least.]

Yeah, you heard right, and I know Korra. We're roommates in in the Metal Sector.
[Video]
How is she doing?
[Cause last he saw her... well.]
[Video]
Well...not too bad, given the circumstances. I mean, could be worse? After all, we're not on vacation here. She's a strong person, though. She's holding up.

If by 'know', you mean 'got drunk together in a bar once and may or may not have embarked on multiple shenanigans together since then'...then there was a slight possibility.][There were two things that surprised Zatanna about this post. First of all, seeing the face of Korra's father. She knew it was the Korra she knew, too. The resemblance was too uncanny.]
[...as was the resemblance in personality to her father. That voice. Differently accented, but all too similar in tone. The second thing that took her a moment to recover from the realization of.]
You were told right.
I'm Zatanna. A friend of Korra's.
Video
He gives the young lady an approving smile.]
It's pleasure to meet you, Zatanna.

[...that...probably sounded worst than it was meant to.]
You too, Chief.
Have you managed to find Korra yet?
video;
I just got here, so I can't say I know anybody named "Korra", sorry. You seem to be taking this all pretty well... [For somebody who doesn't sound like they'd be really tech savvy.]
video;
[That's a new one. He hasn't been addressed that particular way before. He has to wonder what it means.]
I can't say I'm pleased about it. But losing your head in a situation like this won't help anyone.

Yeah, it's best to stay calm... I'm still trying to get the hang of everything myself. It's a lot to take in, being kidnapped and dragged into a war...
