It's the ah...concept of that idea. For whatever reason...makes me feel better about all of this.

[Arno always preferred reading to making his tutor cry over algebra (both in dealing with Arno's attempts AND trying to explain it, poor man), so it made sense to delve in at the time. No judgement for those who haven't had the chance, or circumstances to read it though. He doesn't have time to reserve it over little things like that.]

The kedan have informed me that the encryption capabilities have been removed from public consoles such as these.

[Judging by the look on her face, this was not a surprise. But nor was she pleased by the reaffirmation.]

Did they offer you any explanation as to why?

I believe it has to do with the nature of the changes the kedan have been making to the software, but the head of the installation team implied some sort of issue with the use of encrypted transmissions during the invasion. Apparently the Chihuelans used the encryptions against the kedan ... something about a number of the consoles exploding.

[Also implied had been that this was how the woman had lost part of her leg, but Anton hadn't asked for details.]

I have never encountered a machine exploding before that was not either malfunctioning or purposely programmed to do so.
