[Genis is feeling all out of sorts. Yes, he'd been told that this massive headache and otherwise feeling completely lethargic and terrible would be gone by tomorrow, and so he would have considered putting this out there until then, but someone had told him that he looked somewhat familiar, that there was some older girl with the same hair colour. And while there were possibly a zillion people in all the infinite worlds out there that he didn't yet know about that had elder girls with a silver-white hair, the description sounded like a shoe-in for Raine. He had to make the post.

[But Genis looks just... terrible. He's tired and just feels just empty, not to mention hungry. You'll see a 12 year old's face just looking like he could use a really really nice sleep. And as a result, he's not afraid to be cranky. Granted, he's always unafraid to be cranky, but that's his excuse at the moment.]

I really hate to gripe about this first thing, but come on. I come straight from one world where I'm hated just for being a half-elf, and now I'm in a world where I'm hated just because I'm not from around here? Greeeeeat. You know, I'm beginning to wonder if there even is a world out there where people don't discriminate against other people for completely stupid reasons.

I mean, what'd you guys even do to the kedan anyway? Did you go out and kidnap everyone's kids or something? Because if it wasn't as big as something like that, I don't know what you could have possibly done to get them to hate you so badly.

[He says this with the most deadpan delivery ever. He then just shakes his head as if just in disbelief that he's already stuck in a world worse than the one he'd just left.]

Okay, at any rate, I don't know who exactly is out there listening to this, but... hey. I'm Genis Sage. I don't suppose any of you know someone named Raine, would you? Anyway, as for me, I guess I'm just a student at the moment, though I really haven't been attending school for a while since I've been travelling around my world for the past while with my sister and my friends. Despite that, I could probably still graduate at the top of my class even without having been diligent on all my homework last year. [He says this with a remarkable amount of pride despite his general malaise of feeling empty and tired.]

Anyway, I'd say that I'm looking forward to meeting all of you soon, but right now I'm much more interested in waiting for this massive headache to go away first. Though I'm told that's supposed to go away tomorrow, so that's one thing going my way.

[ A little childhood trauma is good for building character! ~~Bakura no~~ He isn't really sure how to answer that they do look alike -- and they do indeed, and he could be a reasonable image of Genis in several years -- but he only nods. ]

No, it seems we're off the hook insofar as our origins are concerned. Nearly everything else we do or don't do is a fair game.

[ and then, as if to mildly reassure: ]

Although this month is better, because of the ambassadors walking around.

So you're telling me it's going to get worse before it gets better? Well, that's reassuring. At least I won't be led into a sense of false security with how nicely they're treating me.

[So reassuring. You call that reassuring, Bakura? You're doin' it wrong.

[But despite the fact that Bakura isn't exactly the best at motivational speeches or at being a half-elf, there is something that Genis latches onto. Sure, Raine is here, but something about their similarity—even if only outward similarity—causes Genis to open up a bit.]

So what's your name? Have you been here long?

[ The thief grins at Genis' sarcasm. ]

Hm, that is one way to look at it. Another would be, nothing comes free here, so make your own plans.

[ To be fair, Bakura can be hella persuasive at speaking when he wants to be, today is just not that day. ]

Bakura, and for 14 months. Not the longest, but enough to have a sense of the place.

[Okay, that's practically a riddle wrapped in the sheep's clothing of advice. Though it's unfortunately something Genis is already familiar with.]

Yeah, somehow I think I've already figured that bit out here. Somehow the kedan don't exactly seem like the charitable sort.

Though nice to meet you, Bakura. But wow, I can't imagine being here for over a year. I've only been here a few hours, and I think I'm already a little sick of it.

There are... some good things, even now. There were people who chose to stay here, after all.

The other Foreigners aren't all abhorrent, even if they are too nosy for their own good.

[ That is almost praise, from Bakura. Still, he seems willing to elaborate after a moment. ]

For those who have very little in common with the worlds they came from, it is sometimes easier to find more to relate to here.

Wow, you almost sell "our" kind as being absolute pariahs.

[Still, despite his sarcasm, Genis can't help but chuckle at it.]

Maybe there will be a place here for me then. I just want a place where I can live in relative peace.

If you want someone to paint nice pictures with words, go hire a poet.

[ Bakura says it humorously though, not cruel. Although Genis' second remark does make him cut back on the biting sarcasm. ]

[Biting sarcasm is something Genis can take, if only because he dishes it out with such regularity. Besides, all in all, Bakura doesn't seem so bad. Maybe a little aloof, but not too bad.]

Poetry's never really been my forte, so I'll just have to take your word for it.

Just gotta get over all the nasty words and ugly stares, right?

[Admittedly, he sighs a bit at the end. The last bit is, admittedly, said dryly. If it were only "that easy," the problem would have been solved a long time ago.]

Anyone who tells you to "get over" those things has clearly never been the target of them; you won't hear such a thing from me.

[And with that, there's a faint smile on Genis' face. Yeah, he is totally feeling encouraged, not to mention relieved that he's not exactly alone in this.]
