PILOT'S LOG 1.01 ✈ VIDEO; console
[ The feed opens with Stork tapping one long green finger on the screen, looking a bit sheepish. He's not unfamiliar with the level of technology here, just the specifics. In the background, a public cafe and several irate looking kedan glaring at the Merb's back. In the foreground, some telltale purple bio-mechanical goop. ]
So... note to self: don't try dismantling these things, they melt like a bad batch of Globs. I, uh, I'm probably going to have to pay for that other one, aren't I? I've probably contracted Raztorian poisoning already. Only a matter of time before I start going blind in one eye...
Can someone tell me what passes for a crystal depot around? Someone mentioned the Earth Sector, but when I showed them the Cinder crystal I had on me, they said they'd never seen anything like it.
[ He turns his head to look over his shoulder, not at the kedan but upward, to the sky; the metal earrings move as he flicks one long ear, listening for something while looking uneasy. ]
Is the sky always this quiet here? I don't like not being able to hear even a single airship. If there's going to be a cataclysmic blast cloud coming to wipe us all out, I'd like some time to get a fresh copy of my will prepared.

Re: [video]
...I'll set aside as much as I can for you, then. If you can find the Midnight Hotel, the easiest way to get to the Guild from there is [She runs through the directions Raine gave her some time ago, as it's the course she's been using herself.]
Really? Do you think you can actually build one here?
[It's not dry or sarcastic at all; she's genuinely interested in the idea of building an airship.]
I prefer my excitement without those. [The constant terror she's never really experienced, truth be told. The ever-present probability of doom? Depending on the definition of doom, she's had quite enough of that.]
You're a Sky Knight? [Doom and terror aside, that still sounds fascinating, and Aqua's expression clearly shows a desire to hear more. Actually, she looks like she's completely disregarding the doom and terror mentions. She's starting to figure that Stork exaggerates things a little.]
Re: [video]
A skimmer? No problem; as soon as I get some parts and some tools. Or do they not use those here either, like crystals?
[ He blinks rapidly at the question, shaking his head back and forth quickly. ]
Me? No, no, I'm a pilot. The Condor is my ship -- the Storm Hawks' carrier. You need to have much less concern for life and limb to be a Sky Knight. There are other requirements too, but that's a big one.
[ There's real, genuine fondness in his tone when he speaks about the Condor... and possessiveness. A beat, and then: ]
Aerrow is our Sky Knight and the leader of the squadron.
Re: [video]
[Aqua smiles a little bit at the 'requirements' for being a Sky Knight.]
So you work as a team? That must make facing danger easier and safer, having friends to support you. [If things had gone differently, perhaps she, Terra, and Ven could have presented a united front and overcome the machinations of Xehanort.]
Re: [video]
[ He'll be heading over there; tools are worth a little side-trip even in unfamiliar territory. Besides, how is he supposed to build things to protect himself without any?? ]
It's... yeah, it's better than going alone. Although, there is a lot more danger overall now. Can't really say which net value's bigger.
Re: [video]
[She believes this with all her heart, as her tone and expression show.]
Re: [video]
Yeah.
[ And then: ]
Plus... they'd never find another pilot who knows the Condor as well as I do. Or who'd rebuild their skimmers at least once a week. Or provide invaluable knowledge about the ever-present terrors of Atmos.
Re: [video]
You certainly do a lot for your team.
[Aqua gives Stork another friendly smile.]
I hope you won't have much difficulty settling in, and if you need anything, don't be a stranger.
And again, welcome to Keeliai.
Re: [video]
[ He does, and he thinks so too, but he's not used to having anyone actually say it. It catches him off guard for a moment, before he clears his throat. ]
They do a lot too. For me.
Thanks, Aqua.
