[The screen buzzes to life to show her a young woman with bright, warm gaze waiting for the proper moment to speak. When she does decide that the camera is on and operational, she smiles brightly, if a little wearily, and gives her greeting in a gentle but confident voice.]

Hello… I’m Dove, and I’ve just gotten here. I’m not really sure why I’m here, but I was told that was kind of the norm for ‘foreigners’. I expect it’s fairly common for us newfeathers to be a little confused… I mean, really, who would have ever dreamed of a turtle big enough to live on? It’s...a little unsettling.

[She looks down a moment, as if trying to decide what all she should say, then tilts her head the slightest bit at the camera while she sweeps her hair off of her neck to settle between where her wings would be if they were out. It’s obvious she’s comfortable being filmed, but she’s a little lost as to what she should say.]

I’m not entirely sure what I’m supposed to do here, [she admits, now rubbing her arm.] but I’d like to help out in any way I can. And honestly… [A pause, before she laughs softly and looks directly at the camera again.] I’d really just like to get to know some of you. [She has no problem asking to make new friends. Maybe it’ll help her figure out why exactly she was brought here.] So... if anyone wants to show me around, that would be great. Or... just hang out!

Uh, sure, I could show you around, if you want. We used to be brought here to fight the Big Bad, but we kicked it to the curb and people're still gettin' pulled in, so, good luck figuring that out.

The Big Bad? [had they mentioned that...? Probably] That sounds... Like war, honestly. Are you sure it's over?

Yeah, nasty demon thing called Malicant. And, uh, we think it's over. Probably.

[Well, now there's reason to be alarmed.]

However, she presses on, rubbing her arm a little awkwardly. His tattoos don't bother her one bit, though she is intrigued by them.]

Well, was. We took care of him. [And he puffs out his narrow chest. A little bit of swagger here.]

Sure, I'll show you around. Where're you at?

[She smiles at his demeanor. It's nice to find people with pride.]

I'm at the Midnight Hotel, [she tells him, ignoring the flag in the back of her mind; so what if he's a stranger? She's an angel...she can take care of herself. As for finding out more about this war, she's sure there'll be time for that when they're face to face.] Should I wait for you here?

[Jackie grins.]

Yeah, I'll meet you there. Be there in about half an hour!

[And he's there in half an hour, just as he said!]

[With a smile, she waves goodbye and turns off the consol before moving out into the open lobby where he would find her on arrival. She's content to people watch for now.

When he arrives, he'll be met with another bright smile.]

The one and only, [he says with a broad grin.] And you're Dove. Nice to meet you. So, seen anything around here yet, or do you want the grand tour?

[Well helloooooooo nurse! But first, he can't help but raise his eyebrow at one minor detail.]

Well, you get to do what everyone else here gets to do: complain about the fact that we're in a different world and that we get the short end of the stick nine times out of ten.

Well, it has been worse, I suppose. Things are getting better. Just... not exactly as fast as we'd all like.

And I've been here long enough. I mean, in one way I've been here six months, but I've actually been here a year longer than that. It's part of some weird magic thing that I don't understand.

I think a lot of us are looking at the giant turtle much the same way. Still, probably better than living on top of a giant bear.

She actually giggles at his quip, the sound light and true.]

[Genis looks at that pun and rolls his eyes. He's not sure if it was intentional or not, but it was still... pretty bad.]

Well, duh. I'm not one of the kedan after all. All of us here from other worlds are "foreigners" in this place.

You might try looking for a woman named Raine Sage, then. She runs the Healer's Guide. I do work for them as well. I wasn't much of a healer back home, but healing spells aren't as common here.

And my old work is better suited to traveling than staying in one place.
