If I understand this right, there could be people here I know, despite that I could swear I just talked to them at home, right? [Luke frowns, looking rather tired as he runs a hand through his hair, sitting at the console in the Welcome Center.] In that case, if anyone knows if Leia Organa or... [A pause, because does it work if the last you knew someone was frozen in carbonite and basically in coma?] Han Solo are here, please tell me. Or tell them Luke's looking for them.
[He smiles briefly, his expression brightening a little in general. Something strikes him then, though, and Luke's gaze lowers for a moment, frowning at something out of view before he looks up again.]
Aside from that, I'd like to know what sort of prosthesis are available, and the tools to repair them. Or if the tools could be adjusted for already existing ones. I don't need any of that at the moment, but you never know.
[Better be as prepared as he can, before something happens, for once. Especially in a new place. He's had his new hand not two weeks yet, and he's very, very aware of it... which is probably why this occurred to him at all.]

And, yeah. It's a symbol of prestige, and the champions are expected to give prizes from their own posessions as a token of their respect to the winners. All the weapons are blunted, so it's not like it's to the death.
I've heard they use it to train their militia, too.

[Luke agrees almost cheerfully, but there's seriousness underneath it, because well. It's true enough, and all joking aside, medical personnel have a hard job.]
Ah. [Luke relaxes a little, nodding.] That's better than I thought, though blunted weapons doesn't really mean much.
[He quirks an eyebrow at that; you can do a lot of damage that way. Maybe even worse than killing someone.]
I guess it could be a pretty effective way to do that, though... sort of like a real combat experience, with less chance of dying.

Basically. But you also run the risk of putting your soldiers out of commission for a potentially long time, depending on the injuries they get.
[It seemed like a needlessly brutal way to train your militia, though the violence wasn't something Luke was unfamiliar with.]

[Luke's not exactly about to question that; he knows very well what the Force could be seen like, what Han has practically called it, more than once. So that's simply curiosity instead of incredulity.]

It's amazing. Never seen anything like it. Professor Sage, the head of the Healer's Guild, can do stuff like that.

[And again, it leaves him wondering if healing is something you can learn to do with the Force...]
Definitely makes this place a little safer, but I'd still rather not get injured.

Yeah, I guess you could sort of call it that, since the things you can do with it... [an eyeroll.] It's certainly left me disbelieving a few times.
[Most notably a few weeks ago.]
Bacta can't fix everything, but it can help the body regrow tissue to a large degree and help heal a lot of other things... Like severe hypothermia. Don't ask me about the specifics, though, I'm not a doctor. [He grins briefly and shrugs.]

I have a medkit in my X-wing, there's a medkit in the 'fresher in my room, both of those have at least bacta patches, but I don't really carry that with me.
[There's a soft snort.]
Not that more than one person hasn't said I probably should carry at least something with me, more than once.
[Mostly jokingly, but the exasperation had been real more than once.]

Well, either way, if you find yourself injured, the Guild's always got it's doors open. And if you can't get there, shout over the radio. Someone'll come help.

[Not like he still intended to get himself injured, but it was good that there was resources in place.]
