If I understand this right, there could be people here I know, despite that I could swear I just talked to them at home, right? [Luke frowns, looking rather tired as he runs a hand through his hair, sitting at the console in the Welcome Center.] In that case, if anyone knows if Leia Organa or... [A pause, because does it work if the last you knew someone was frozen in carbonite and basically in coma?] Han Solo are here, please tell me. Or tell them Luke's looking for them.

[He smiles briefly, his expression brightening a little in general. Something strikes him then, though, and Luke's gaze lowers for a moment, frowning at something out of view before he looks up again.]

Aside from that, I'd like to know what sort of prosthesis are available, and the tools to repair them. Or if the tools could be adjusted for already existing ones. I don't need any of that at the moment, but you never know.

[Better be as prepared as he can, before something happens, for once. Especially in a new place. He's had his new hand not two weeks yet, and he's very, very aware of it... which is probably why this occurred to him at all.]

I wouldn't know; I've never heard of the Force.

[Drake hasn't been here long either! So any mentions of it over the comm system, he's missed.]

I can manipulate the body at a cellular level. Energy, nerves, blood vessels... the easiest fix would be for me to tell your nerves to stop responding to the phantom limb, but that would be temporary. It would be back after a few weeks.

[Amberdrake is thoughtful for a moment before continuing.]

There are other things to do, but I would have to examine it, first. If, say, scar tissue is interfering with a nerve, I could fix that permanently. If it's primarily muscle tension, there are massages I could teach you to alleviate it.

[He offers an apologetic smile.]

It would really depend on what the damage is like, and how bad the pain gets.

It's an energy field made up of all living things. [He feels a bit weird having to make this explanation, especially as he - still - feels like he barely knows anything, despite his month with Yoda.] You can do a lot of different things with it, so maybe you could use it to heal too...

[Luke trails off with a shrug; he doesn't know, after all. He'll have to ask when there's a chance.]

That's amazing, though. [A grin as he leans forward, interested and awed regardless of what use it could be to him.]

If it helps, it was a... [he takes a breath, closes his eyes. This is not easy, even two weeks later.] neat cut. Cauterized at the same time as the cut was made, and it got treated shortly after, so there should be minimal scarring...

[Luke opens his eyes and smiles, a bit pale.]

I don't know what it'll look like in a while, I... lost the hand two weeks ago. Though you can't really see the site of it directly anyway, not with the prosthetic there.

[Drake stares at the camera for a moment at that description.]

That does sound... eerily familiar. As for the site of the amputation, I would be able to 'see' it just by touching skin near it. The Healing Gift has a sort of... second sight to it.

[It's always hard to describe the arcane Gifts to others, though not as hard as explaining what a kestra'chern is.]

Primarily energy, but I know how to translate what I see into things like bones and veins and tendons and muscles.

[The easiest answer is that they just used different names for the same thing, the next one might be that they worked on similar principles but were different... simply by virtue of that they didn't come from the same reality, Luke is sure.]

Ah. [Nodding, Luke frowns thoughtfully.] I think I get it. I can... not exactly see, but... it's hard to explain, but I can sense other living being's presence in the Force.

Something similar to that? And you can affect it.

[It might not be exactly the same, but it made sense enough to Luke, with what he did know of the Force.]

I can sort of do that if I try, with the Empathic Gift. But that's emotion, not... life energy itself.

[Or is it? He remembers the way he felt whenever zombies were around, in Haven. Thus, Amberdrake looks a little uncertain for a moment.]

I mean... I think so, anyway? The mindless undead have a feel to them, too, like a sucking void. And they shouldn't... well, feel anything.

[He shakes his head; the little bells in his hair chime softly with the motion.]

It sounds like we should meet, at least.

Undead? [Luke stares, eyes widening briefly. If that is what it sounds like, that's... Well, clearly nothing at all like Ben's ghost, and he's glad he's never seen anything like that, or heard it possible at all.]

Maybe it's related to your Empathic Gift? Connected, but it's not all emotion, since you can sense... undead.

[He can not quite stop the slight shiver, then nods, smiling a little.]

They weren't on my world, this is... hm. This is the third time I have been pulled onto another world, full of other 'foreigners' as it were.

[Drake agrees with Luke's reaction. Zombies are horrifying.]

The third? [He can't imagine. Luke shakes his head, rubbing the back of his neck.] That must be tiring and frustrating. I hope you can go home, soon.

And if you know some place relatively close to the Welcome Center, I could come meet you. [He grins briefly.] I'll probably learn the layout soon, but at the moment...

I can meet you outside the Welcome Center, I went there briefly when I arrived.

I can head out now, if you like. It won't take me long; the place I am staying reaches all over the city, somehow.

All right, sounds good. [Though he pauses at the mention of reaching all over the city, cocking his head.] You mean literally? That's... something. I assume you don't mean by some sort of transport system.

I wouldn't know. From what I understand, the Hotel exists in its own little pocket dimension.

[Something he only vaguely understands only because Haven itself was a pocket dimension!]

So it both exists all over and doesn't? I don't know. My... roommate probably understands it better, he's buddhist.

He's got more knowledge of, um, pocket dimensions because he's a buddhist?

[Not that that words means anything to Luke, but maybe that's just another word for 'scientist' or something similar, and it's just not being translated exactly.]

I... think I get it, though. Kind of.

[Similar to the Force and reaching out for it, maybe; you stood in a single spot, but connecting with it you could reach much further, without technically moving at all.]

[Drake smiles at that.]

I meant the... existing and not existing. That seems to be something a Buddhist would know more about than I would. They're very philosophical about that sort of thing.

Ah. [Luke chuckles and nods.] I see. I think. I haven't exactly thought about something like that...

[He grins.]
