If I understand this right, there could be people here I know, despite that I could swear I just talked to them at home, right? [Luke frowns, looking rather tired as he runs a hand through his hair, sitting at the console in the Welcome Center.] In that case, if anyone knows if Leia Organa or... [A pause, because does it work if the last you knew someone was frozen in carbonite and basically in coma?] Han Solo are here, please tell me. Or tell them Luke's looking for them.

[He smiles briefly, his expression brightening a little in general. Something strikes him then, though, and Luke's gaze lowers for a moment, frowning at something out of view before he looks up again.]

Aside from that, I'd like to know what sort of prosthesis are available, and the tools to repair them. Or if the tools could be adjusted for already existing ones. I don't need any of that at the moment, but you never know.

[Better be as prepared as he can, before something happens, for once. Especially in a new place. He's had his new hand not two weeks yet, and he's very, very aware of it... which is probably why this occurred to him at all.]

[Luke nods slowly, closing his eyes. He'd... expected that. He's worried, still, nearly sick with it, but it's just made him more hopeful, too.]

[It's a distracted little mumble before Luke shakes his head and opens his eyes again.]

My father--- [Then he cuts himself off, glancing away. Unsure if he wants to say it, doesn't not to, even if he could learn to know him without their relationship being involved with this at all. Unsure if he should just say it right now or...]

I mean... [Luke groans and runs a hand down his face.] Are you okay if I say something strange here and now, or would you rather we meet first?

[He almost hopes he says he can say it right now, no matter how much he wants to see him, as well.]

We are standing on a giant living turtle. I highly doubt anything you say will surprise me.

[Because really since he's got here, everything has been weird.]

True. [Luke grins wryly, relaxing a little for a moment.]

Not that we don't have plenty of things at home people elsewhere would probably think are weird. [Shaking his head, Luke still felt wary about this, but the tension was nearly gone. It wasn't like he wanted to hide it.]

[On the other hand, saying that felt both like a relief and a challenge to a version of his father who wasn't even here.]

[His suspicions suddenly came true. He did not sense any deception either. Still he stares at the screen before continuing.]

[That's such a normal reaction that any tension that had been clinging to him sort of just... runs out of him. For the moment, anyway.]

Yeah. [Luke smiles, amused.] Sorry about that. Twenty two years older than you expected, I guess?

[Rough guess from Anakin's apparent age and when things must have... happened.]

I only recently learned about the future.

[He pauses. There's still much he needs to work out about future events.]

It's a lot to take in, but I am glad to meet you. Even if it is under these ... strange circumstances.

I know the feeling. Sort of, anyway. [Shrugging, Luke's smile is a bit dry, now, but still there.] I just found out a few things myself.

[Taking a breath and holding it for a moment, Luke lets it out slowly. This is still... He still doesn't feel all right, but it's much better now than he'd thought it'd be.]

This is really strange, but yeah I... I'm glad we got this chance. I've... wanted this. Even if I knew it was impossible. [Luke laughs quietly, shaking his head.

He'd had the thought - guiltily - more than once in these past two weeks, after all, and now it'd actually sort of happened.]
