video;
[Costigan is looking about as chipper as ever. Which is to say not at all.]
I was here before. I don't remember, but I know I was.
[There's a short pause before he continues.]
I have a list of names. If anyone knows them, or if you are them, contact me. I'll, uh- I'll write them in below.
Also if anyone has information on Eshai or Evandau. I think they were important.
[Another pause, then he reaches forward to click off the video and the list follows.]

[He admits. Most of what he's asking about are notes written in what looks to be his own handwriting and way of writing.]
Jack Frost? Was a- a spirit of some kind? [Because why the hell would he trust some bullshit magical spirit.]
You know anything about his discovering clones?
no subject
[She thinks, anyway. She didn't speak to him enough to know for sure; but he had some of the same feeling as Celsius.]
Clones? Yes, though that happened before I arrived. I heard about it afterward. There was an underwater facility containing several clones of the Foreigners present, I believe.
What do you mean, you can't tell if you remember?
no subject
[He runs a hand through his hair to downplay the significance of that statement and idea. There's a chance the cloning facilities are still running, that it continues to be where the bodies come from.]
And like I said, I don't know. Can't tell if it's memory or deja vu. Right now I'm reading off some notes it looks like I wrote even though I don't remember writing them. A couple people told me I was here before. I didn't believe 'em, but now.. I don't know.
no subject
--ah, I see. You have your own notes, but you have no memories of this place. Is that correct?
[Odd, but not unprecedented. Raine hums a thoughtful note under her breath.]
It's possible for different versions of a person to exist here. Are you familiar with the concept of parallel universes?
no subject
I don't want to hear about it. Either there's only one of me or there's more than one and I don't want to fuckin' know about 'em. Unless it's another Costigan. Every other guy in Boston's a Costigan.
So assuming it's me and not some other Costigan, sure, I want to try to remember.
no subject
I-- very well.
Does what I've said match what your notes tell you thus far, at least? I'd be interested to see what memories you can recover.
no subject
[He sighs at that. It's like trying to understand the complex narrative themes of a novel by only reading the chapter titles.]
I'll let you know when I remember. You're some kind of doctor, right?
no subject
Yes. I'm a healer; I run the Healers' Guild, which is over in the Water sector.

[There probably isn't a perfect analogue, but if she knows the problem she can work backward from there.]

[Mental injuries or illnesses are not her strong point, but...]
There are options, yes. I may wind up directing you to my colleague, Suhiet; still, between us we should be able to find you a solution.
You should likely come to the Healers' Guild, however.

There. Let me know when you plan to go, so I can be sure to meet you.
action okay?
more than fine!
[And in about an hour she will be, making her way out to the main hall. She's a bit distracted, her eyes distant as she thinks about something else entirely, but she's there.]
action
Hey. You remember we talked earlier? [He glances around to ensure they won't be overheard.] I need medication.
no subject
[Raine nods, then gestures behind her.]
My office? There are a few herbs I can likely prescribe you, but I'd like to know a little more first. For instance, if your issue is chronic or only appearing when exacerbated.

He hovers behind the chair he's probably meant to sit in, finding it easier to stand.] It's both. I've had it a long time, a long fuckin' time. It gets worse when shit gets worse.
no subject
All right. How was it managed in the past? A constant dosage regardless, or did you have the option to take something more when distressed?
And do you find a tea an acceptable format?
[There are other options, but a tea is the simplest, really.]
no subject
[He replies as if vaguely exasperated, trying to keep things on an even keel. He's half hoping that she doesn't actually know what those are. It's easy for him to sound like an addict when he says it like that, even though he's not. Hell, Costigan hasn't been in a non-stressful situation in years to know if he even could live without the medications anymore. This place isn't helping that.]
I don't normally drink tea. Can you do pills, or powder?
no subject
The names mean nothing to me; I'm inquiring after methodology. However, you've answered my question nevertheless.
[Fletch would have known.]
It's possible, but it will take a little longer, that's all.

[Costigan's fingers find the smaller pill bottle in his pocket, the pad of his thumb running over the ridges on the lid's edge. He doesn't have too many between this and the stash with his things, but hopefully it'll be enough.]
One's an anti-anxiety and the other's a painkiller. [He says finally, worried that if he doesn't clarify, he'll only get some cheap anxiety meds that won't do anything for him at all.] The painkiller helps with some old injuries.
no subject
I'll review my Earth-native colleagues's notes and see if I can find corollaries for strength.
[And if it's a painkiller as well, she'll have to watch the interactions.]
Do you happen to know what type of painkiller it is?
[Easier to work with what his body's already accustomed to, if possible.]
no subject
[He repeats, at a loss for what else she might be asking. How does a non-pharmacologist convert prescription medication to something accessible to someone from another world.]
Beyond that, I don't know. If you give me a list of ideas, maybe I can recognize one.
