[ He's going to treat this as a chatroom until he has reason to do otherwise. ]

is this network the only way to contact people? what happened to telephones? or shining a signal in the sky? [ subtle. very subtle. He buffers it quickly: ] or even messenger pigeons?

[When Tim arrives, he'll find the window's already open for him to come in. Kyle is sitting on the bed, eating a fruit.

The room is still reasonably bare, as its owner had just moved in and hadn't had time to buy much decorations or extra furniture.]

action! Woo!

[Tim doesn't just let himself in when he arrives--even if Kyle is expecting him, it seems rude. He does appreciate the open window, though, and he perches on it like--well. Like a bird. He knocks at the window frame.]

Hey.

[imaginate]

Hey! [Kyle puts the fruit down and wanders over to the window to get a better look at Tim.] Come in.

[He climbs the rest of the way through the window and gives him a little grin.] I love what you've done with the place.

[imaginate]

[Kyle grins back as he closes the window.] Yeah, wait 'til I get to IKEA.

That might be a bit of a walk from here. [Pause] Or, you know. Flight.

[imaginate]

Where there's a will, there's a way, right? [Slightly too flippant? Yes. Trying to deal with the fact that his ring's being messed with somehow.

It's also weird seeing Tim in the Red Robin costume when Kyle has only seen it on Jason, but he'll ask about that later.]

[Tim smirked a little at that--a Green Lantern making a joke about will. Cute.] Let me know how that works out for you. I could use a bookcase.

[Kyle shrugged and then gestured to the console.] Do you want something to eat while you work?

[Tim headed over to it.] Do you have any weird fruit? I've been test-driving all of the weird fruit around here.

[imaginate]

I got some yesterday. [He fetches a fruit basket and offers it to Tim.]

[mrsarcastic003]

[He picked something that looked a little like an apple, but that he knew from experience wouldn't actually taste like one.] So what are you looking for here?

[imaginate]

Something that I can use to talk to you guys only - you know, like the one Oracle has. [Beat.] And, maybe a different one for personal use. [The way he says it, it sounds like he expects them to be listening anyway but doesn't mind. Kyle has very few secrets.]

[mrsarcastic003]

'Calling all Justice League?' [He nodded a little.] I can do that. And something for personal use, too. [Not that either of them will be anything that he can't listen in on if he wants to, because--Bat paranoia. But working with a Bat, Kyle should probably expect that. And it will be leaps and bounds better than nothing.]

Yeah, that sounds good, thanks. [A thought occurs to him.] Jason can't hack it, can he?

[He paused at that. He didn't actually know what Jason's current level of computer ability was, but the baseline encryption he was using was a bat-familiar one. He... probably wouldn't have too difficult a time with it, if he put his mind to it.]

He might be able to. I can tweak it to make it harder, if you want.

Can you do that? I don't want him butting in when I'm discussing something with you guys.

Sure. I have one or two tricks up my sleeve. [Wry grin.] I don't usually like Jason spying on me either. We don't get along.

I think a lot of us are in the 'Don't Get Along with Jason' club.

He doesn't exactly endear himself to people, does he?

Even less so when he starts running his mouth off on you. [Kyle shrugs slightly. In contrast to his statements, his tone is surprisingly neutral.]
