[ His understanding, upon arrival, was that he wasn't unique in this place. Others, from other worlds, worlds far different even from the one that he had been stranded on, had arrived here too. He should wait, reason told him - other members of the Kree might be here. Avengers might be here. An infinite number of universes meant the probability of anyone with a specific grudge against him was minimal, but the world rarely ever functioned at its best, at least in terms of luck and fate.
He noticed these consoles allowed for three different options: video, audio, and text. Video would be brazenly inviting trouble, and although brazen was his usual MO, he was still recovering from recent events.
Text was... so not him.
Audio - well, voices were pretty easy to mistake?
The feed opened to a few seconds of silence. ]
...Hello. [ Another pause. ]
I seem to have found myself, like many of you, far from home. For the second time in my life. At least this time there's no one trying to vivisect me.
[ An attempt at humor? It was hard to tell with how flatly that was said and because of the third pause that followed. ]
Aside from these consoles, what sorts of technology are available here? Anything more advanced?

[ He shouldn't attempt humor, really. ]
The last I heard, there was war brewing between the Avengers and those called the X-Men.

[Still, she laughs, though the sound has a lot in common with a groan.
Then he gets to the serious part, and Nita's eyes widen in alarm.]
...Oh, Neptune. [So many kinds of not-good.] Do you know what happened?
no subject
I haven't been able to get the full situation. After I was banned from Earth... Well, my own people came after me.
no subject
Oh.
[She looks slightly crestfallen.]
I just--have friends on both sides, y'know?
no subject
[ A pause. ]
So I am going to "jump from a limb"...? And assume that this place has people drawn from different times as well as different universes.
[ He was only gathering on how little this person knew of current events as he saw them. ]
no subject
[Nita corrects him absently.]
Yeah, we're spread across a few years. I don't think anyone's from, like, a century ago or anything.
no subject
Is no one worried what sort of damage might be inflicted on time and space, though?
no subject
The Kree didn't tell you what's been going on the past few years when you were last out their way, huh?
no subject
...
Why?
tl;dr >_>
Right, okay. Few years back, Annihilus ripped a hole in spacetime and the Negative Zone almost conquered the universe. The United Front--aka our guys--won, and the Kree were a big part of that.
Meanwhile, the Inhumans figured out their king had been replaced by a Skrull, and once they got the real one back, they went tearing off to get revenge, which they started by conquering the Kree so they'd have a power base. The Kree were hurting pretty bad from the Annihilation War, but they stomped what was left of the Skrulls--which wasn't much 'cause Annihilus broke through smack in the middle of Skrull space.
[Pause for a sigh.]
This brought the Kree in conflict with the Shi'ar, who were being led by a certified nutjob at the time, so there was another war. With spacetime already weakened, this started tearing bigger holes, and things were coming through.
Then the Inhumans detonated a terrigen-based bomb inside the Fault--the big rip into another dimension--which tore it wide open and let an evil version of Mar-Vell from a universe where they'd killed death into our universe, and guess what, we almost got conquered again and basically the only thing that saved us was Thanos.
[It was loads of fun! Nita slouches down in her chair.]
So a couple people here and there ending up on a giant turtle in another universe is seriously not even going to register.

I guess I would have to be inclined to agree. And if it is true that this place is somewhere in between life and death, as they say...
[ He was thinking outloud now. ]
A different sort of physics might be at work here...
no subject
[Nita doesn't know much about magic besides the fact it exists.]
no subject
[ Which would mean his skills amount to little, or even nothing. ]
no subject
[Smirk. Then, more seriously:]
You're Kree, so the gangs shouldn't be any trouble for you, but you should know they're out there.
no subject
[ Proactive as always. ]

[Not that Nita approves of the job they're doing, but Evandau is more of a fight than she wants to have.]
Defend yourself, defend others, but keep it as non-lethal as you can. The commander of the guard will come down on you, and Evandau is a match for you, I guarantee it.
no subject
Fine. [ It was relaxed, and definitely sounded more like a teenager. ]
I guess that could give me more time to tinker around here.

[Nita is doing a reasonably good job hiding the fact that she doesn't like Tony.]
