[ His understanding, upon arrival, was that he wasn't unique in this place. Others, from other worlds, worlds far different even from the one that he had been stranded on, had arrived here too. He should wait, reason told him - other members of the Kree might be here. Avengers might be here. An infinite number of universes meant the probability of anyone with a specific grudge against him was minimal, but the world rarely ever functioned at its best, at least in terms of luck and fate.

He noticed these consoles allowed for three different options: video, audio, and text. Video would be brazenly inviting trouble, and although brazen was his usual MO, he was still recovering from recent events.

Text was... so not him.

Audio - well, voices were pretty easy to mistake?

The feed opened to a few seconds of silence. ]

...Hello. [ Another pause. ]

I seem to have found myself, like many of you, far from home. For the second time in my life. At least this time there's no one trying to vivisect me.

[ An attempt at humor? It was hard to tell with how flatly that was said and because of the third pause that followed. ]

Aside from these consoles, what sorts of technology are available here? Anything more advanced?

So far just some kind of winter festival. Right now I'm in the mood to celebrate not being killed by zombies and not being stuck in the cold and dark anymore.

Is there still a threat of their attack?

[Victor would say these were worse. They didn't play by any zombie rules.]

No, I'm pretty sure they're all gone. Once we got up into the sunlight again, they all burned away.

...This place sounds almost as... interesting as Earth. I may not be so out of touch here.

Yeah, this place has been pretty interesting so far. There's plenty of great people to meet at least.

Yeah, I'm from Earth. From the Jean Grey School.

[ He had learned the name, eventually, of one of the men who had visited him in his cell. He was curious now, about a possible student. ]

Yes, I know him. He used to be one of my teachers.

I've met him. Once.

He's kind of scary for a human.

He can be pretty scary if you think about it. Pretty much any telepath can, really.

He was a nice guy to us students at least.

I met him from my prison cell. Along with that... Sub-Mariner and a few others.

Namor was there too? [Victor frowns for a moment.] Do you know who the others were?

[ He had to think on it. It felt like a lifetime ago, even though he ended up meeting some of those men again later on. ]

Iron-Man. Mr. Fantastic. ...Black Bolt. Doctor Strange.

Oh. [And now it's a little awkward since it sounds like that same group that made the Hulk go nuts and try to take over New York.]

There's a Professor Xavier from another timeline here on the turtle if you wanted to see him again.

[ If he were to be told that, he might end up rethinking his whole encounter with them. ]

I hope my mistakes weren't repeated in his timeline.

I'm not sure since I didn't ask him if he ever ran into any aliens but I'm thinking they may not have been. He's a lot younger than the Professor Xavier I know. He's still got his hair.

[ He made a small sound that sounded like shock crossed with amusement. ]

Hair? I don't think I could picture that. [ Well, he could, but he was picturing something like an afro. ]

I couldn't either until I saw it for myself. It's a shocker. Next thing we know, Magneto will be showing up young and with hair that isn't all gray. [He gives a little laugh.]
