Verse 02 - Video
[Jehan has Problem, and this seems to be the fastest way to find a solution for it even though these things still confuse him. So, he turns it on with a shy smile, looking much less beat to hell then in his first request for help a few weeks ago. However, he looks like someone who really hasn't been getting much sleep, dark circles and everything.
He's also in a pink waistcoat that really does not go with his red hair. This is why Jean Prouvaire is not allowed to buy his own clothing. He normally knows better, but lack of sleep leads to weird ideas and he's not one to fight them.
Sorry.]
Does...with so many different people here, I was hoping someone would be able to help me. I haven't been sleeping well, since my arrival, and it is starting to take its toll on me. I am in need of a sleeping draught or laudanum or...anything, really, to aid my sleep. Not wine or--other alcohol, though. That only works temporarily. Otherwise, I am open to any suggestions you may have.
Ah--thank you.
[And he cuts it]

[text - english; SORRY HE DOESN'T KNOW ABOUT THE TRANSLATION THING YET]
If you really need drugs though, a doctor might be able to help you than asking a network full of strangers.
[He wouldn't usually speak up, but taking laudanum for sleeping was kind of alarming. Pain, sure, maybe, but sleeping? This guy wasn't an addict, right?]
[Those dark circles are suddenly far more suspicious.]

Forgive me, monsieur, but my English isn't quite that good. Written words are not translated and I can't understand you.

I find drinking non-caffeinated tea can sometimes help. They have a few good blends in the city if you're interested?

You paid no attention whatsoever, did you Grantaire?
[Also he knows you kick but not saying that in public]
If I wanted alcohol, I would have simply stolen yours.

I'd say it looks like a job for Hypnos, Monsieur Prouvaire, [ i'm sorry he's getting such a kick out of saying all these french names, even if he IS still saying it with a distinct American accent... ] but I don't think the gods can hear us here. Not that they're much help in the first place, though. So instead I offer you the more reliable sleeping pills!

[But aside from that. Oh, PTSD Frenchboys. Dorian has no idea what to do with you.]
Laudanum's not fantastic for you in the long term, Donatello's right, but there aren't any soporifics I know that don't have side-effects to some degree, and laudanum is probably safer than sleeping pills if you're going to be using something for months. [Well. Marijuana is pretty kind as far as bad effects go, but when Dorian needs to sleep, it's opiates or sleeping pills. Coke and coffee to wake you up, dope and benzo to put you to sleep: the healthy lifestyle choices of Dorian Gray.] The only thing for insomnia that isn't at least a little dangerous is therapy. [Which Dorian has never taken and never will.] But I'll ask around.
no subject
Thank you, Monsieur Gray. Is there a difference between these pills you mentioned and laudanum?
well let's hope google treated me right on this one /shrug

I have found that keeping very busy during the day helps wear the body and mind to the point that sleep comes on quickly and heavily.

Pointless. Don't bother with the poison, assuming you have any brains in that skull of yours. Claim it in death if you wish; any other fix is a perversion of nature.
[ Nearly a decade past and Albel hasn't found a way to put his own beast out of its misery for good. There was no way to kill nightmares in a humiliating way. His approach to hush the trial was simple: wander like a vagrant, slaughtering fools and wild animals to reawaken a bloodlust instead. ]

Well. If laudanum wasn't an appropriate sleep aid in these parts, one of these 'pills' might do in a pinch. For the moment, though, Javert will struggle through it. Surely night after night of drowning to death with Valjean's merciful face hanging over his head will work itself out after a time, won't it?
One can hope. Or perhaps it is part of his punishment in this nonsense afterlife. But he will manage it, as he's always done.]

Alcuin looks as calm as ever, though there are shadows under his eyes that suggest he's been sleepless too.]
It is a shame there have been few concrete suggestions, Messire Prouvaire. You have my sympathies.

[The waistcoat is awesome. Jehan frowns a bit, noticing the bags but not saying anything out of politeness]
How helpful these options are remains to be seen.
