Not a lot of humans where you're from? [It's funny, because there aren't a lot of well, everything else here, where Vanessa's from.]

I don't know how to play any instruments, but I can sing, if you find enough people for something like that. I was in a band back home.

Were you? Rocktastical! I was in a few jam bands, nothing fancy, here and there. It was pretty awesome! I wanted to start something up back home pretty recently, but we all had our own lives to deal with, it wouldn't have panned out.

Singers are all right. I can sing, too. Jamming isn't about who's got the lead, it's about who can play well with others for short periods of time.

I'm not a team player except when it comes to music.

Yeah! It was my boyfriend's band. It was pretty cool, getting gigs at local clubs and everything. [She nods.] Yeah... I get that. It's sort of why I'm not really in the band anymore.

Oh man, an ex of mine had a band he tried to get famous once, but he was way too cocky for his own good. You can't have that kind of ego if you haven't even made it yet.
