I know that some of you are already aware of this fact – but, back home in Paris, I'm an Architect. [ a damn good one in her opinion, which, yes, only seems to cause a smug smile to start to tug at the corner of her mouth. ] And, well… given the apparent state of the Turtle as of late. I’m willing to have a look at any structural elements you might be concerned with.

[ a shrug of her shoulder and she is adding: ] There is nothing of major concern right now that I'm seeing. But… there have been a few things that have caught my attention. So just let me know if you would like to have me or even my friend from home look at anything for you.

[ a long beat and she is moving on to her next topic. ]

Also, Stephanie mentioned something to me, about a few of us trying to start a Foreigner ran Committee a while back. [ and this is where her expression turns a bit more eager (she really likes this idea, okay?) ] I really like this idea, and I'm hoping that we can maybe get the ball rolling on it?

After all, it might be a good way for us all to work together, and perhaps hopefully ensure that our voices are heard.

[ because lets face it, half of the "foreigners" aren't exactly use to living under a ruler and want to make sure their voices are heard. ]

I think that might be it for now. [ which only has her furrowing her brow in thought (gotta make sure after all) before she is sighing and smiling faintly. ] I know this whole ration thing is going to be interesting, but if you do need help with something, don't hesitate to ask.

If you do not have one now you will have hard luck. Most are over-contracted.

Oh! Sorry about that. [ and at that, she does sound somewhat apologetic. she has just tends to be somewhat defensive at times, as she has gotten so use to having to prove her competency when it comes to her field. ]

And no, we haven't had a set contractor. [ which only has her wondering: ] Have you been talking to many about the work the Kedan have been doing here?

Apparently, [says Javert coolly. It is such a straight-laced tone that it is difficult whether he means it sarcastically or not.] Actually, I breathe it, in fact. I lately coordinate and oversee construction projects. [A snort.] You're offering something useful, mademoiselle architect, but I will tell you manpower and materials are stretched now. It annoys me.

It's Ariadne. [ no use in formality here - she isn't exactly use to it after all. ]

And I've noticed that - the lack of manpower and materials that is. [ which does have her sounding vaguely concerned, as she isn't sure what to make of that happening in a dream. ] Has anyone mentioned to you about how long they thought this might last?

Not in the slightest. The local kedan say this is a more severe shortage than other episodes.

[Whether it is a sudden freak illness, or whether it is by some malignant's grand design remains to be seen, but the man on the line does not voice anything of this nature.]

If anyone under my watch has any free hours, I will send them your way. Can't have our structures collapsing on us. But I make no guarantees. We do what we can. I am Javert, if you need to call on me for any reason.

Now, there is something else that interests me. What is this 'committee?'

I'd appreciate that. [ she said as honestly as she could. she may not be fully sure about how the projections will react around here, but she will always gladly take any help she might be able to get from them. ] Mr. Wayne has me hopefully looking at a few things for him, so I'm sure I will be busy here soon.

[ a short pause, as she sighing at her thoughts and quickly works out her words. ]

Well, given that so many of us outsiders have been here for a bit, I figured it only made sense that we came up with a way to communicate better. [ a beat ] Maybe allow us an opportunity to try to form some type of origination.

Monsieur Wayne? [Javert echoes thoughtfully.] Perhaps we shall see more of one another than I thought.

I noticed that we foreigners are disorganized, compared to the native kedan. It is efficient to map out a system that fits into the local government models. Reduce the chaos and confusion. Who are the other key players?

[ there's a faint sound of understanding that slips out of her with that. as she can only assume that bruce has offered to employ a few people here, so there was really no need to ask further on that. instead she just sighs, casually stating: ]

Well, as much as I would love to believe that a college student from Paris would be able to spearhead this endeavor herself. Bruce hopefully will be able to accomplish a bit more with the connections that he has.

[ and personally, she would rather work as much behind the scenes as possible. ]

[There is a wry bark from this man. It does not quite qualify as a chuckle, but nearly.]

Yes, you did look young, for advertising your own architecture services! [Not too young to be a wife or a lady, but that seems hardly the norm for women on Tu Vishan. Most seem to be more in line with the grisette girls. Perhaps more respectable than that.] Your point is taken.

Monsieur Wayne is an unusual fellow, but he is a man of means. He is ... excessively equitable at times, but a decent superior. What I meant to ask you is whether he works this idea alone, or if there are others on this committee. So that I may watch and listen for them on the bulletins.

Oh... [ she pauses, humming in thought to what he asked. ] As of now, I don't think there has been much of an interest? [ it that perhaps was the word. given that they all had been brought here at different times, any attempt at forming it never really had stuck from what she gathered. ]

But I'm assuming once Bruce brings it up again, perhaps more will offer their services. [ a beat and she adds with a faint smile in her tone ] I'm sure you could offer to help as well.

... I may.

[There is a note of trepidation in Javert's voice, a certain twist in tone that implies a grimace.]

Only my support, [he supplicates quickly. God forbid anyone accuse him of becoming a politician! He could think of no man that was a worse fit than himself.] I am less than suitable for political office.

[ there’s a small hum in thought that escapes her at that. as she has to wonder why she can sense the trepidation in his words. It was definitely something she was going to have to remember to ask about later on. ]
