[ On pops the feed, showing one smiling and somewhat eager, Ariadne. And as always, she has been thinking (a lot) and has a few things she would like to talk about with everyone.

So… please enjoy? ]

I know that some of you are already aware of this fact – but, back home in Paris, I'm an Architect. [ a damn good one in her opinion, which, yes, only seems to cause a smug smile to start to tug at the corner of her mouth. ] And, well… given the apparent state of the Turtle as of late. I’m willing to have a look at any structural elements you might be concerned with.

[ a shrug of her shoulder and she is adding: ] There is nothing of major concern right now that I'm seeing. But… there have been a few things that have caught my attention. So just let me know if you would like to have me or even my friend from home look at anything for you.

[ a long beat and she is moving on to her next topic. ]

Also, Stephanie mentioned something to me, about a few of us trying to start a Foreigner ran Committee a while back. [ and this is where her expression turns a bit more eager (she really likes this idea, okay?) ] I really like this idea, and I'm hoping that we can maybe get the ball rolling on it?

After all, it might be a good way for us all to work together, and perhaps hopefully ensure that our voices are heard.

[ because lets face it, half of the "foreigners" aren't exactly use to living under a ruler and want to make sure their voices are heard. ]

I think that might be it for now. [ which only has her furrowing her brow in thought (gotta make sure after all) before she is sighing and smiling faintly. ] I know this whole ration thing is going to be interesting, but if you do need help with something, don't hesitate to ask.

[ A faint smile, her nose crinkling in thought. ]

I'm thinking that the committee could be made up of a handful of people that perhaps we feel could represent us as a whole? [ a short pause and she is considering her next few words. ]

I guess it's somewhat political if you sit and think about it. [ at least she thinks it is, and she assumes some might be wary of that. ] But, we have to try to find a way for us to work together, and if that means maybe making a few of us spokesmen, then I figure its worth a shot.

It's politics, yes, but it seems like a good idea. There's value in having a body that one can go to that can be trusted to represent one's interests, and escalate matters if necessary.

Though I've no idea yet how receptive the ruling bodies here are to the requests of the likes of us. Nevertheless, I'd certainly be interested. Politics is one of the things I do, really.

So how much are trees like buildings? Mine's looking a little... well, unhealthy.

Um… Well. They're just as valid of a structure as any. [ well in a round about way. ] They have all the basic principles needed… you just have to think outside the box with them.

[ which only has her humming in thought as she curiously asks: ] What's wrong with your tree?

[Javert spent a long, long day on the field, and he is in no way presentable for a visual call. He chooses to keep it to sound only. He would rather not be visible while his hair is matted with sweat and he struggles to daub away the grime from his face with a warm washcloth. This bulletin interests him for several reasons - one, this city with the damnably crumbly foundations could use more architects, and two... what is this about a public committee?

At least his voice sounds much more assured, calm, and abrupt than his weary bones feel.]

Your architect business. Do you work alone, as an independent service?

[ to be honest, she isn't sure if she is surprised or not by the question - most haven't seemed to ask for much details outside of the what she has given them. so she can't help but let out a small hum in thought, quickly working out her words (and just what the team had worked out as their cover).

before she replies with a faint sigh: ]

No, actually, I was lucky enough to be working with a friend of mine. [ a beat ] We weren't with a firm though, if that what you are wondering?

Such a committee, I take it, is the way the government is run in this place?

It's more like: An Emperor that likes to tell us what they want, when they want.

[ which, yes, as much as she can respect other forms of government - she really doesn't seem to be thrilled with this one. ]

Most of us aren't exactly use to that sort of rule.

I'm glad someone else has been thinking about a committee. [Though Emma can't say that she was using a word for it.] I hadn't heard talk of such a thing forming until you mentioned it, but then, I have not been here even a month. But I think it is important that we organize ourselves, for the reasons that you spoke of and also so that we might share information with each other.

[ there's a faint smile that appears at the corner of her mouth as she nods in understanding. ]

I'm still fairly new here myself, [ it was going on four months by her calculations (who knows how long it's been in the real world) ] but I don't see that as a reason to stop us from trying to accomplish this now.

[ which only has her shrugging as her smile grows a bit more. ]

I think each and every one of us has something we can offer here. We just need to be open to the communication part of this.

I was going to be potentially involved with the committee - I'd still be willing to be a part of it, if there's interest and support from the others. The community building some of my associates and I have been working on could serve as a meeting space, regardless.

[Color Grantaire surprised. He knows his share of women artists, many having been self taught or from well-to-do families, but an architect, that's new. He can only imagine her buildings must be elaborate Rococo displays of fancy.]

I'm surprised to hear that l'Ecole has begun accepting women, even in your time, whatever it may be. The entire Academy de Beaux-Arts tends to err on the side of socially cautious tyranny and hard-ass behavior.

Well... a lot has changed over the years. [ which yes, only has her rolling her eyes slightly as she lets out a low sigh

and adds somewhat sarcastically: ] We can even vote now.

[ sorry it's nothing personal (well, not really) because she is quickly assuming that he is part of that French revolutionary group that has recently showed. ]

I'm assuming that you're familiarly with the Academy then?

What kinda stuff would this committee thing do?

Well… I guess it really depends on what we – as foreigners – see as important. [ a deep breath and she is smiling faintly into the screen ] I suppose they could almost be considered our elected officials?

[ though, she isn't exactly sure that is the best way to sell it – not everyone likes politicians after all. ]

If you're interested in doing some contracting work, I'm sure my crews could use some architectural scrutiny. We can always meet and negotiate some rates, if you'd like.

[And then onto the crux of the matter...]

Unfortunately, the committee never got off the ground the last time it was seriously discussed. I'd definitely be interested in seeing a revival of interest.

I'm sure we can work something out - maybe over coffee sometime? [ which only has her smiling a bit brighter, as she nods in understanding. ]

And yeah, Stephanie mentioned a bit about some of you trying to start it before. [ and she can only wonder why it didn't get off the ground at the time. ] Do you see any issue with it hopefully starting now?
