[It's been a while since Tommy's been around on the network. He's been trying to keep himself out of the house and busy, helping as much as he can with the decay just to keep himself distracted from everything else, but being on rations and using super speed has started to take it's toll on him. Suffice to say, Tommy running on empty. And because he's trying to save his energy, it means he hasn't really been out of the house in a while for a run. And that makes him grumpy and cagey as hell. And ontop of that? He's really hungry. Combine all these things and you have a very irritable speedster.]

Okay, this rationing list is total crap. How is anybody supposed to survive on this?

[he has one of the lists in his hands, as if to help plead his case.]

This is like, one meal for me. How is this fair? D'you know how much I have to eat just to stay up and running? A lot.

[He drags a hand down his face.]

Anybody got any extra food? Or know where I can get any? 'Cause if I'm stuck to this list, I'm kinda screwed.

[He would have resorted to stealing, but his main tactic of running too fast for them to see is sort of off the table right now. And yeah, he sounds a bit like a spoilt child complaining because they didn't get dessert, but anyone who knows him will know this is sort of a serious issue for him. He gives one last grumble and then turns the feed off.]

[The moment he turns the feed off, Tommy gets up out of the chair and tries to o and scrounge for some food in the kitchen. He's checked the cupboards about three times today, but somehow he's thinking that if he checks them again, food will magically appear. Of course, it doesn't.

So all he does is pull out one of the last three slices of bread he's been saving, and chew on it sort of pathetically. He eyes the door to Rikki's room. So far he's avoided asking her for any extra food, but he's starting to get a little desperate. It wasn't an issue before he lost the energy to actually steal extra food here and there (yeah, great superhero he is) and now since running just uses up energy he doesn't need he's having to walk everywhere. Which is sort of driving him crazy.

He finishes his piece of bread and moves over to Rikki's room, knocking on the door with a frown. He doesn't even know if she's in.]

Rikki? You there?

[ There's a vague, somewhat muffled "mrrrrrrph" from the other side of the door. That can probably be interpreted as "yes, come in".

If and when he opens the door, he'll find Rikki face-down on the bed, face buried in a pillow. She's fine. Really. ]

[He takes that muffled response as a yes and opens the door, poking his head around.]

Hey, d'you have any extra--... [he cuts off when he actually sees what she's doing, and frowns, opening the door fully so he can let himself in.]

Well, I am not sure if you eat it, but I have been supplementing my rations with fish caught from the shell's edge. It would be no great trouble to bring a little more to share.

You're a mutant? They oughta put somebody on actually figuring out our dietary needs, not just put down a blanket list. [Ava's not exactly used to this level of rationing, but she's not a stranger to the idea. Or the idea that some people need to eat a lot extra. Like the Hulk, for instance.] Until then you may have to eat a lot of fish.

[He scrunches his nose up a little.] Seriously? How am I supposed to get fish when I can't really run to the edge of the shell without passing out?

My metabolism is all over the place. [he suddenly realises who he's talking to. Pretty blonde. He gives her a smile.] But thanks. Here's hoping the sun don't go out too.

I have extra food I don't need. I want to save some, and give some to Captain America's charity... if you promise not to waste it you can have the rest- but you should probably think about not using your powers while this goes on.

[As long as there's sun around he doesn't really need to eat, but his wife does. He wants to save some for her.]
