I'm calling all turtle egg parents here. I'm a new...,uh parent I guess. Man that is really strange to say. This is my first time taking care of the egg by myself. I guess I was just wondering what are some of the ways you other egg parents take care of your egg. Like, do you ever leave your apartment? Because I have to admit the idea of walking around out there with the egg is kind of intimidating.

So...yeah. Help? Please?

I have another question for you guys, and this one probably applies to a wider group of people here. I know that a lot of people here have powers or special abilities that are unique to them. That's probably old news to everyone, right? What I'm interested in knowing is what kind of powers or abilities does everyone have? Think of it as a kind of survey. It might become useful in the future to know that we have twelve magic users and only two telepaths or whatever. [If not it will certainly satisfy Teddy's geeky need to categorize as many new heroes and their abilities as possible in his head. He's definitely missing Wikipedia right about now.]

You don't have to give your name if that makes you uncomfortable. Feel free to reply with an anonymous text if you want. To start things off, I'll go first. My main talent is shape-shifting. But I also have some other handy abilities like super-strength and a healing factor. [The anonymous text idea is really for people who want to keep their established secret identity a secret. Teddy feels more comfortable being open about his identity here where he's surrounded by other people with powers, but he knows there are probably others who don't feel the same.]

The threat that we are brought here to fight? It goes after turtles, and it is within the city. It has used the consoles. And you have just announced where one egg, defenseless, when it comes to something like it, is.

What? I had no idea. No one ever said the threat was living here with us. Or that it goes after turtle eggs! [This is why they need a guidebook for this place. It would clear up everything.]

Yeah, I know that much. [He's gotten the afternoon shift this time. It's not really his first shift, exactly, but it's the first time he's decided to ask for help.]

Really? That's...interesting. What kinds of things do you say? Do you make small talk with it? [It's actually real interest, not mocking. He can imagine what it must be like to sit around alone with a turtle egg to baby-sit. He's had a taste of it. He'll probably be talking to it before the week is up.]

When it comes to the eggs, I keep it wrapped up and read to it or tell it stories I just remember from back home. Maybe things that I've done as well.

You have it easy. I mean, I can carry it. But you probably barely have to touch it to teleport it somewhere.

[Plus, he isn't stupid- a kid might not look dangerous, but he is admittedly making a list of metahumans and their powers. Even if they were anon he could easily use the information he got.]

[If Teddy were anyone else this might be a probably. Especially considering his shapeshifting ability could let him replicate abilities. But really he's just a teenage hero geek and this is meant to be totally harmless.]

No one ever said, hey by the way the guy we're going to fight has access to the console so don't ask important egg or power related questions.

I am sending you an announcement which I made some time ago, based on what I know of the care of dragon eggs; I have since made my inquiries to the Emperor, and she says that as the library contains no lore on the care of turtle eggs, this ought to do passably well.

I usually just make sure the egg stays warm. And that its as okay as an, um, egg could be, I suppose.

[Well he's also actually read books and stuff and tried to figure stuff out, but its kind of hard when you're dealing with a giant turtle egg.]

Well I have it wrapped up in every extra blanket I have so I think I have the keeping it warm thing down at least. But thanks. I'm trying to keep it as comfortable as possible, but it's hard to tell if it's working.
