[Carol is seated in front of her console, in civvies. Actually, sitting might be the wrong term. She's more floating a few inches above her chair, legs crossed. She does this sometimes without thinking when she's sitting. She looks mostly unbothered by this whole thing. A little frustrated maybe but at most it seems to be a minor inconvenience]

So. Alternate universes are a bitch, huh? Or whatever you'd classify this as. You would think whatever bigger power it is you believe in would have decided by now that this has happened to me enough but I guess not. Oh well, what can you do? [Said oh so casually like she has just seen way too much of of this shit. Which she has. Weird happenings are sort of a thing in her life ]

Anyway, alternate universe craziness aside, my name's Carol. Nice to meet you guys. Under the circumstances and all. I'm sure you hear stuff like this a lot but let's just get this out of the way first: What's the progress on not being here anymore?

And while I'm asking things, how many people here are from Earth? Better yet, who here has heard of the Avengers, the X Men or Captain America? Or who knows anything about superheroes at all, even if it's not any of the things I just mentioned? Let's just say I want to know for my own reference.

[She'd also like to see just how many people ended up here from her world. Or a world similar to hers. Having more superheroes around never hurt. She pauses and glances off to the side, looking at something intensely for a minute as if considering something very important before turning back to the console]

Unrelated but can the fires around here actually burn things? Just, you know, curious.

[ Really, Tommy and Rikki should restrict her console use, probably. Why? Weeeell... ]

The X-men are mean jerk fartfaces, especially Wolverine. And so's Captain America. But I guess I know who they are. [ As if that weren't already evident. ] I used to think they were super cool, but they're not. Even if Rikki says Captain America's awesome. She's basised.

[She has never met this kid before a day in her life but obviously they're from the same Earth]

Well, okay, I'll give you that Wolverine's kind of a jerk. He's just grumpy. He's perfectly agreeable if you keep him supplied with beer. But what's up with you and Cap, kid? Also I think the word you were looking for was "biased".

He split up me and my friends and made me go stay at some stupid mutant place and it sucked. And everybody else was miserable too, 'cept Chase 'cause he made up a pretend aunt, and so we all ran away again because they're my family and he kept trying to catch us anyway.

[ If Carol heard about the situation in LA with the Pride, she might be able to extrapolate, but it was kept as on the down-low as possible, news-wise. ]

...Yeah, biased, she thinks he's super cool 'cause she's his sidekick or something. [ nod ]

Riiiiiiight. So I'm not sure what the situation is there but knowing Cap, he probably thought he was doing what was good for you. He's kind of a big mother hen.

[She loves Cap but she's also not gonna debate how great he is with a baby]

Since when does Cap have a girl sidekick? [Last she checked, Cap hadn't had a sidekick since Bucky and Bucky was a boy]

Well he did it wrong, then, and he never even said sorry, he just tried to do it again.

[ Molly shrugs ] Iunno, I've never heard of her before. Hang on.

[ shouts off camera ] RIKKI! The lady on the console wants to know since when Captain Buttface has a girl sidekick!

[ There's a long suffering sigh. ] Can you stop calling him that?

[ And then she has to come over and investigate who this 'lady on the console' who knows Cap is. She blinks at the screen for a moment or two - she never really met Ms. Marvel, but she sure as hell knows Anya was close with her. ]

I was Bucky for a year or two in a universe that's... different from most people's here. And then I was Nomad in Princess Grumpypants' universe. You're, um...

Your name's Carol, right? Anya used to talk about you all the time.

[Face meet palm]

Yeah, well, sometimes adults do the wrong thing because they think it's right. Sometimes adults have to make tough choices. [Boy does she know that] Doesn't make them buttfaces.

[Carol blinks at the new girl and gives a little wave]

You know Anya?

You can't trust adults. You don't know if they're secretly bad guys. And even if they're not, they always wanna control you even if they shouldn't.

[ yes, she did recite things that the older kids impressed upon her just then, why do you ask?

And then, without ceremony, she abandons the console (with a probably audible battle cry) to jump on Tommy. It's all yours, Rikki! ]

Molly... [ Whatever, she's gone. Talking her out of her vendetta against adults is a problem for another day.

Rikki turns back to the console and smiles a little sadly. It's been half a year and she still misses Anya like crazy. ] Yeah, we were kind of partners for a while. And she was my best friend.

[Carol just raises an eyebrow because yeah, she's not touching that one] Well isn't she just the cutest little thing? [Sarcasm]

Huh. I hadn't heard about that. [Then again, it's been a while since she last heard from Anya] You said your name was Rikki?

Yeah, she's, uh... kind of like a feral cat. We fed her, so now we're stuck with her.

[ She nods at the question. ] Rikki Barnes. Nice to meet you. Sorry it's here.

Pfft, I know how that goes. Except in my experience it was actually a cat and I'm still not convinced she isn't magic. [Man speaking of Chewie, who's gonna feed her?]

Barnes. So you'd be the one related to Bucky? How does that work, exactly? Because to my knowledge Bucky doesn't even have a kid.

He's... sort of my grandpa? Alternate universes and stuff.

...speaking of which, I don't know if you know this already, but there is a Cap here. And two Buckys, and a handful of other Avengers, but they're not the ones we know. Just, y'know... heads up.

I was gonna say, alternate universe is the only way it makes sense. Unless your grandmother happens to be a Russian spy and that's a whole other weird can of worms that I don't think I'm mentally prepared for. [Nat with children.....]

Oh, yeah. Speed mentioned that. A Cap who isn't our Cap....that's gonna be weird. I'm willing to bet he won't have any idea who I am. [Just the thought of Cap not knowing her kind of hurts. She's not sure how she's gonna handle that]

[ Rikki blinks at the camera for a second or two. ] You mean Black Widow? They were...? [ Nope. Nope nope nope. She already knows more than she ever wanted to about her alternate grandparents and their love lives, and the last thing she needs is more weirdness on that front to wrap her head around. ] No, definitely not.

[ She smiles a little sympathetically at that last comment from Carol. ] Probably not. His Avengers got started... pretty recently, so his team's kind of small. And he's younger than the one back home. But he's great. He's... well. He's Cap.

A thing? Sort of. I mean, as much as those two can ever be a couple with anyone, you know? [Yeah it's weird to her too and she doesn't know much about it but more than she would like to]

Yeah, I've heard. Man.... [Yup, this is gonna be weird. She already doesn't know what to do] Well, Cap is Cap, right? I can't imagine he....changes much.

[Have a raised eyebrow, from the couch.]

'Fartfaces?' You better not be talking about me, squirt.

[ After abandoning the console to Rikki, Molly lets out a battle cry and attempts to leap on top of Tommy where he's lying on the couch ]

[Oh god. He gives a yelp, and is tackled, squirming to try and get out from under her.]

[ Molly giggles and just lays there, clinging like a little monkey. ]

You're not a fartface, dummy. You're cool!

[He makes a noise of defeat, waggling an arm in an attempt to get Rikki to help him out, but then his attitude completely changes, and he sets to tickling Molly's sides, with a wide grin.]

Damn right, I'm cool.

[ That gets a shriek, and she lets go and curls up in a ball, giggling fit to burst ]

Stop iiiiit! Tommy, stop, nooooo!

[He doesn't stop, laughing himself just because she's laughing so much.]

Nope! Make me!

I'm totally gonna throw you off the turtle!!! EEEEE!

[ She totally would (no she wouldn't) if she weren't squirming and giggling too much ]

I'm pretty sure I can tickle you to death before that happens.

[he relents so that she doesn't actually pee herself, and twists her hat around, leaning back against the couch with her in his lap, grinning.]
