[Carol is seated in front of her console, in civvies. Actually, sitting might be the wrong term. She's more floating a few inches above her chair, legs crossed. She does this sometimes without thinking when she's sitting. She looks mostly unbothered by this whole thing. A little frustrated maybe but at most it seems to be a minor inconvenience]

So. Alternate universes are a bitch, huh? Or whatever you'd classify this as. You would think whatever bigger power it is you believe in would have decided by now that this has happened to me enough but I guess not. Oh well, what can you do? [Said oh so casually like she has just seen way too much of of this shit. Which she has. Weird happenings are sort of a thing in her life ]

Anyway, alternate universe craziness aside, my name's Carol. Nice to meet you guys. Under the circumstances and all. I'm sure you hear stuff like this a lot but let's just get this out of the way first: What's the progress on not being here anymore?

And while I'm asking things, how many people here are from Earth? Better yet, who here has heard of the Avengers, the X Men or Captain America? Or who knows anything about superheroes at all, even if it's not any of the things I just mentioned? Let's just say I want to know for my own reference.

[She'd also like to see just how many people ended up here from her world. Or a world similar to hers. Having more superheroes around never hurt. She pauses and glances off to the side, looking at something intensely for a minute as if considering something very important before turning back to the console]

Unrelated but can the fires around here actually burn things? Just, you know, curious.

We didn't have superheroes on Krypton. Or if we did, we didn't call them that. And we never figured out space travel either, so I understand not being familiar.

My cousin is here, actually. Although I'm not sure how that works, since we're from different universes. He's sort of like my cousin, I guess?

What's Krypton like? I've only ever seen Earth and the Kree homeworld. [And the Brood planet but hahaha bad memories]

Yikes. And I thought I had it bad just having a bunch of temmates from another universe who probably won't know me. Gotta love alternate universes. How's the cousin thing working out for you?

It was beautiful. It's hard to describe an entire planet, but if I had to I would call it peaceful. We hadn't had a war in as long as anyone could remember.

Kal is nice, even if he can be a little... overbearing. He's the only family I have left.

It sounds nice. I'm guessing it's...not around anymore? [Might have been the wrong thing to ask about but]

Family's like that sometimes. They drive you crazy but you still love and appreciate them just for being there.

It was destroyed. I was sent to Earth when my father realized what happened. [ She's explained it enough times that there's only regret in her voice. She keeps her mourning to herself. ]

It's good to have somebody. Even if he's not exactly who he's supposed to be.

I'm sorry to hear that. And sorry I asked about something sad like that. [Oops]

Yeah, I'm getting a lot of that right now. But just because they're different doesn't mean they're worth less, right? Especially when it's family.

It's alright. [ It isn't, but there's not really anything else she can say. ]

There's enough uncertainty about this place without isolating ourselves.

I won't ask again, promise. [She knows what it's like to lose things that are important. Not a whole planet but her emotions, her memories, her humanity....yeah, she knows it's not a nice feeling]

That's a really good attitude to have. It's really easy to just isolate yourself when things are rough but it really doesn't solve anything.

Life is pretty sad without friends. [ Kara isn't really the type to isolate herself, not when it isn't the sounds and the smells and the lights of this new place with its yellow sun making her head feel like it's going to explode. She loves people. She loves her family. But she doesn't exactly trust this place. ]

Oh, you were asking about the fire? Did you mean in the Fire Sector?

Yeah, it is. Took me a while to learn that but I did. [To think of all that time she spent trying to isolate herself in space because she didn't think she could deal with all the shit life dropped on her...]

Yeah, that's what I meant. So that's what this place is called? Not bad.

That's where I live. I think it's beautiful. The fire is fake though, it can't burn you.

Yeah, I'm getting that now. I guess it wouldn't be all that practical to have real fire around. [Shrug] You live around here too?

What are the other sectors like?

I do, it's my favorite place. [ She smiles brightly as she explains, ] The fire fountains remind me of the Fire Falls on Krypton.

The other sectors are nice too, though. The Water Sector is mostly small houses and shops built on the shore, and there are always boats going between them. In the Wood Sector they build the houses in trees. Earth Sector is full of beautiful artwork, and Metal Sector builds most of the technology you can find here.

Fire Falls? That sounds kind of awesome.

[Carol nods, listening. She appreciates the descriptions] Thanks. I'll probably check them out myself. It's good to know your surroundings. Especially since I'm apparently gonna be here a while. No way out, huh?

[ She kind of adores Keeliai, even if she thinks of it more as a long term vacation spot than home. She shakes her head. ]

There's a barrier around the turtle. You can't fly or swim away. And it seems like when we get far enough away our powers stop working altogether.

[Carol just kind of wants to get out of here. In time she may get used to this place but right now it's a major inconvenience]

Well, that's inconvenient. Guess we really won't be getting out of her any time soon. It probably wouldn't be any use to try to, I don't know, break the barrier right?

I've heard that tends to have bad results. Like, your powers cutting out all at once.

Greeeeeat. I'd probably survive, at least, but it wouldn't be fun. So much for that plan. [Yes she was actually considering trying to break out. Her plans are bad] Guess I'll just suck it up for now.

That would be best. I hate to think of you getting hurt over the barrier like that.

Don't worry, I won't do it. [She really won't. Promise. Even though she's the woman who once thought flying right into a bright light was a brilliant idea] I kind of like my powers working and not being in pain.

Two very good reasons to not do it. I'm sure they'll find a way to get everyone home eventually. [ Even if right now they're pretty focused on trying to fix the turtle and that whole not dying thing. ]

Eventually. [Those are good things to focus on. She'll just settle for now] Anyway, thanks for all the info. I appreciate it.
