[Hey Foreigners there is a cutie brunette on your screen right now. She’s tapping her chin a little thoughtfully, eyeing the camera] Okay, so I get the whole other realm, hi-you’re-on-a-turtle-and-also-there-are-computers thing. Which, weird – seriously, who expects the afterlife to be so high tech? Also, sorry about the possession thing, that must've sucked. But I have something a little more important to ask about right now.

[She leans back and gestures at herself. She’s wearing a green dress that, while it looks good on her, isn’t exactly appropriate for every day wear] Does anyone have clothes I could borrow? Pants, especially pants. You have no idea how long it’s been since I even saw a pair of jeans.

Other than that, does anyone know if there’s a dance club around here or something? I had a look around myself, but maybe someone who’s been here longer can help. There’s gotta be some place teenagers can go to let loose, right? [She winks, and reaches forward to turn off the camera when something else appears to occur to her]

Oh yeah! I’m A – Catty, I’m Catty. [She holds her hand up in a Vulcan salute] Greetings to my fellow inter-dimensional travellers. Especially those of you with pants.

[A grin, and she squeezes Catty's hand tightly. Maybe too tightly, once again trying to remind herself that this is real, she's real, they're together.] They did. [Destiny, Catty. Destiny.]

Not like, all the time. [Right? Maybe. Ugh.] That's not the point. [A pause.] I've had to deal with a lot of people in my head. I'd like it to just be me in there.

[It hurts, but Catty is too used to biting back the pain to let that on. She just squeezes Vanessa's hand back, and snorts a little] That's so rude. I can't believe you just said that. [But she's laughing a little bit.

well for a few seconds, at least. The laughter fades. She picks through a few more thoughts, but starts to withdraw] It's nice in there though. I forgot what it was like, being around good people.

Only stating the truth here. Besides, you would have just picked it up in my head. [Arching an eyebrow at you, missy.

And then the sadness creeps back in over the relief she's been feeling.] There are a lot of nice people here, too. Besides me, I mean. [Vanessa stops walking, tugging Catty to a stop as well. She stares at her.] You're never going to have to deal with that or them again.

[She sniffs haughtily] Then I can't believe you thought it.

[She's still connected enough that she can feel the sadness, and that's not okay. It's not allowed. She opens her mouth to try distraction tactics again, but something else entirely spills out] I'll always have to deal with it, Vanessa.

[There's a brief moment where she actually looks surprise, before her face resets itself to calm and carefree Catty] So! Who's Leo?

[:O] Who wouldn't have thought it?

[Catty, stop that. Stop changing the subject when she just wants to help you instead of pushing everything away because this isn't going to help. Catty won't have to deal with them at least, and that's all that matters. Vanessa will do everything to make sure that happens.

But right now? Right now, she's blushing and slowly pushing walls up in her mind as she laughs nervously.] Just a friend I've met here. He's cool, him and the other demigods. Can you believe that? Other kids who have godly parents! Except, they're... actually their parents.

[Sticking her tongue out]

[She notices the walls going up, and chases one last thought about Leo before jumping out of the other girl's mind finally, grinning widely] Did you kiss them too?

[Bright. Red. Her molecules buzz loudly, tugging at her.] I- You see, there was- Look, I was showing my gratitude. Because he caught me. It was the heat of the moment!

[Poking her in the side] I've saved you before, where's my kiss?

[A pained look.] Pucker up?

[Catty just snorts and makes a fish face at her friend]

[Pushing Catty's face away now, pls&ty.] It was the heat of the moment. [No, she actually just wanted to kiss him. Kiss anyone, maybe. She's had a severe lack of physical contact.]

[Catty just starts laughing, walking her friend firmly in the direction of the Earth sector like she knows where she's going. Which she totally does, having lifted the directions from a passerby's mind.] Uh huh, I'm so sure. [Eyeing her friend carefully] So Michael doesn't have anything to worry about, then?

[Vanessa makes a slightly pained noise, quiet for a few moments as they just walk. She enjoys the warm air, the quiet after the hectic past week.] I don't know. [Michael is a confusing topic for her, which is pretty bad, considering how she totally tried to jump him in his van.] I really like Michael, but... He doesn't even know the real me. I barely know the real me, but I... I think I'm learning? [A beat.] What if I go back and remember all of this? What do I do then?

[Catty is quiet as Vanessa talks, giving some actual weight and thought to the topic at hand. Boys are pretty serious business, as much fun as she has teasing her friend]

Honestly? I think that...you should worry about that when it happens. If it even happens. Our lives and our memories are too short and too weird to waste time stressing about the future. Have fun with this Leo guy while you can. [A beat] You know, assuming he's actually a guy.

The future is all I can think about! The future here, the future back home. Even if I do remember this place, I'm either going to forget everything anyway, or I'm going to be some sort of spirit, so it's not like Michael needs to know I cheated on him. And I don't even know if it's really cheating. Am I still together with him? He was happy to see me, but Corrine... [Vanessa finally takes a deep breath, calming herself.] Of course he's a guy. A really nice one. And funny, too. Smart.

[Catty can't help the smile the breaks across her face. Because if there's one thing that's normal, that hasn't changed after all this time, it's Vanessa freaking out.

And Vanessa making out with inappropriate guys. Seriously.] Exactly! That's what I mean, Vanessa. Just enjoy the time you've got, okay? I mean, Michael's great and all, but he's not here. Think of it like - you're on a break until you figure stuff out. If figuring things out involves kissing cute boys, you can't help that. [Smirking a little] Considering your track record, I thought I'd make sure...

[No, Catty, don't laugh at her.

xc It wasn't even making out.] But we're not on a break. [She bites her lip. At least this isn't like Toby or her desire for Hector. At least it's her choice, but that makes it worse in a way. Because she's making a conscious decision.] Make sure about what? My track record includes guys, thank you very much.

Uh, you kind of are. Anyone who blames you for hooking up with someone while you're trapped on a desert turtle for who knows how long isn't worth your time, to be honest. Plus, did you see how he was with Corrine? Seriously, don't stress so much about it. [Laughing now] Not human guys.

[Ugh. Corrine. She makes a face somewhere between angry, jealous, and upset.] You don't think the two of them had anything going on, right? It always seemed like she was more into Derek. [She's not upset, she just doesn't want to feel like she lost. Probably not a good sign.] Michael's human!

[Maybe it's a little cruel, but Catty lets her silence intimate her answer without running the risk of actually saying it out loud. Vanessa was gone for a long time, and Michael's still a guy. Besides, Catty wants her friend to be able to let go at least a little bit while her Choice is still hanging over her head, and she's not going to be able to do that if she's stressing out about her boyfriend.

She clears her throat, just addressing the second comment] Michael's the only human. Anyway, I'm just teasing, it's not like I'm in any position to judge any more.

[Well. That hurts, for sure. She drops Catty's hand, wrapping her arms around herself. Michael had said that nobody could replace her, she was special like that, but... Well, how did anyone know if someone else couldn't be replaced if they didn't try? And Corrine was around. Willing. She's upset, but there's also a sense of calm. Maybe that's shock or depression or whatever.

Her lips tug into a frown.] There's only been two other guys besides him. It's not like I have a huge list of men I've smashed my mouth against.

Hey. [Catty is not okay with Vanessa dropping her hand like that. She reaches out and hugs the other girl again so she doesn't have to hug herself] He chose you in the end, right? I mean, he'd be an idiot not to. And once you've had your time here, you can choose him back. if you even want to, that is. But there's no harm in just, you know. Taking some time off.

[One hand pushes her lips back up into a smile] That is a two to one demon-human ratio, Miss Cleveland. Just think of this as your chance to even up the scales.

[Vanessa leans into Catty, closing her eyes and sighing. Right, she hadn't told Catty about that moment in the club. There just wasn't any time.] I... kind of almost had sex with him in the back of his van, and that's... Kind of why he chose me. I think. [Well, he told her she couldn't be replaced, and she decided that losing her virginity seemed like an A+ idea.] But yeah, I guess it's not much of a big deal.

[A reluctant smile.] Technically, Leo's half-god. So.

[Okay, so that was a thought she hadn't found] Um. [She pulls away to look Vanessa in the face] You nearly had sex with him in a van? And he was going to let you? Forget what I said before, what a jerk! You definitely need to let him go, jeez.

[She will return to Leo later she is busy being outraged on behalf of Vanessa's chastity rn]

[Why does everyone make a big deal about this?] Yeah? It's not like we had enough time to go back home or anything. I did have to hook back up with you and Stanton so that we could go to Nefandus. The van has plenty of room. [She's blushing bright red, but she's not really ashamed of her choices.] He's not a jerk! That's what I wanted. What is wrong with you and Stanton?
