[Wanda learned years ago how to hide her true feelings behind a calm, almost bored expression. She knew how to control her body language to seem relaxed when she wasn't, and how to rely on subtle nuances of tone to get her point across. So it's not difficult to hide the anxiousness and tension she feels in her Water sector suite. She's separated from her brother, really separated, for the first time in her life, and also from the team she's come to trust and rely on. In some ways, she even considered them her friends.

Lips pursed, she flips on the console in her suite and leans back in her chair, by all appearances entirely unruffled by her current circumstances. Dressed in her Ultimates uniform, she crosses one leg over the other and periodically takes sips from the glass of water in her hand.

Those familiar with her alternate universe counterpart might notice a striking resemblance to the Scarlet Witch they know. Though she's at least ten years younger, her hair darker and straighter, and her uniform entirely different, her face and bearing are remarkably similar.]

As it seems highly unlikely that our hosts have provided full and completely honest details about our situation here, I'd appreciate any insight you all may have, or information they may have neglected to to give me during their orientation.

[After a brief pause she continues, though the words are completely foreign to Wanda.]

[She ends the transmission without offering her name or listing any of her affiliations save that of Nick Fury. Those who know her will contact her, she's certain, and perhaps those familiar with Fury will as well. Anyone else she has no intention of enlightening any more than is absolutely necessary. Not until she gets a better impression of the climate of the city and the other foreigners living in it.]

[Victor nods a little. It's what he was thinking too and it helps calm down that little bit of panic he felt building.]

That's what it sounds like. We didn't have any Ultimates where I come from. I think I've heard someone mention them here before though so you might not be the only one from your timeline around.

I see. Can you recall who seems to be here from the various worlds or timelines?

[Because the more information she can get, the better. She's already been surprised a few times by unexpected information and people.

If you mean variations of our world, we've got a few. But everyone here that isn't one of the Kedan is from another world.

I see. There seems to be a...notable mutant presence in the city as well, yes?

[Fishing for more information? You bet.]

There's a bunch of us around but we're not a majority or anything. There are other kinds of powered people around. And mutants that aren't the X-gene type.

And do any of these powered people operate within the city in an...official capacity?

[Who's superhero-ing, and does the Emperor allow for that?]

Official? [Victor rolls his eyes.] No, no on. And I doubt that'll happen anytime soon. The Emperor is less than open to our help.

[She frowns at that news, clearly perturbed.]

If she doesn't want our help and the kedan don't wish us here, and there is rationing to save resources for so many already in the city, I hardly see what purpose we've been brought here for.

[Not that it was his choice at all.]

Believe me, I find it annoying too. We're apparently here to fight some mysterious...thing but we don't know when or where or anything like that. We're expected to just sit here, work, and follow whatever the Emperor wants and put up with her treating us like crap when we do things like save people from rampaging undead. [He sighs, shaking his head.]

Well...[Victor frowns.] I'll be perfectly honest here. You're likely to get a less than friendly welcome from people from my version of our world. You may even get attacked.

[She takes in all of this quietly, and at his last comment her lips tighten into something that might be a smile if there were warmth to it.]

Anyone who does will learn quickly why they should have thought better of it.

[Leaning back slightly, she rolls a shoulder back.]

To be perfectly honest, that is exactly what I'm worried about.

[He sighs.]

[The only one she has is whether he's worried that she'll be attacked or, what he seems to imply that he's worried she'll retaliate against those who attack her. Having dealt with enough as it is, suspicion and outright hostility, Wanda purses her lips together and shakes her head.]

[He's mostly worried about a certain big rocky someone doing something stupid and getting himself hurt but he's not saying it yet. He nods in reply to Wanda though.]
