[Wanda learned years ago how to hide her true feelings behind a calm, almost bored expression. She knew how to control her body language to seem relaxed when she wasn't, and how to rely on subtle nuances of tone to get her point across. So it's not difficult to hide the anxiousness and tension she feels in her Water sector suite. She's separated from her brother, really separated, for the first time in her life, and also from the team she's come to trust and rely on. In some ways, she even considered them her friends.

Lips pursed, she flips on the console in her suite and leans back in her chair, by all appearances entirely unruffled by her current circumstances. Dressed in her Ultimates uniform, she crosses one leg over the other and periodically takes sips from the glass of water in her hand.

Those familiar with her alternate universe counterpart might notice a striking resemblance to the Scarlet Witch they know. Though she's at least ten years younger, her hair darker and straighter, and her uniform entirely different, her face and bearing are remarkably similar.]

As it seems highly unlikely that our hosts have provided full and completely honest details about our situation here, I'd appreciate any insight you all may have, or information they may have neglected to to give me during their orientation.

[After a brief pause she continues, though the words are completely foreign to Wanda.]

It also appears to be required that I find work as well. Unless anyone's spoken to a man by the name of Fury recently, recommendations as to where I might begin looking would also be welcome.

[She ends the transmission without offering her name or listing any of her affiliations save that of Nick Fury. Those who know her will contact her, she's certain, and perhaps those familiar with Fury will as well. Anyone else she has no intention of enlightening any more than is absolutely necessary. Not until she gets a better impression of the climate of the city and the other foreigners living in it.]

[...Huh. Does she mean Nick Fury? That's the only Fury Bucky knows, but for all he knows it's a common last name in some places. Anyway, why would a woman dressed like that know him? She damn sure doesn't seem to be from the 40s, and Fury's gotta be geriatric by the times everyone else seem to be from. So when he turns the feed on, his voice is just a bored, somewhat young sounding drawl.] They don't like us much, but I guess you prob'ly gathered that. Nobody seems to get 'full and honest details' around here.

[Wanda's not really surprised by the dislike. She had thought it was because she was a mutant at first, but now it seems that it's simply all foreigners. Humans aren't alone in disliking others because they're different, it seems.

Such matters are inconsequential when the anonymous man mentions knowing a Fury.]

[He's squinting, half in confusion and half in recognition. She certainly looks like the Scarlet Witch, but way too young. And there's other things that are different too, and the whole video has his stomach flipping out. He wishes Billy was here. Billy was the one who was in the 'obsessed with tracking down their magical mom' department, he'd know what to do. Not that he'd care if it was her. It's not like she'd been the most attentive mother out there.]

[Tommy's appearance earns a double take. For a moment, her brother's name is on her lips. It's not just the color of his hair, but the shape of his face, the fact that he looks so much like Pietro did when they were younger.

But there's no recognition in his eyes, which quickly makes it clear he is a stranger. Her interest is piqued, however...]

I heard something of that sort, though I've yet to see proof for myself.

[Her eyes narrow slightly as she considers him.]

[Wanda only met Rogue in passing when she was with the Brotherhood, but the other woman's hair is distinctive enough that it's not difficult to recognize her.

They've never been in the same circles enough to be friends or enemies, but Wanda is glad to at least see one other mutant she knows. Familiarity is welcome at this point, even if she's uncertain of what may come of the connection.]

[Wanda had been hoping to be recognized by people she knew, not others who didn't. While on her guard before, she's particularly careful. The young man doesn't seem familiar to her, though at a glance she can guess that he's a mutant. What other affiliations he may have are uncertain.]

There is some further information about a threat that is posed to us. My understanding is that it hasn't been publicly announced in the interests of avoiding panic, and as there is little enough information, I can appreciate that reasoning.

[Wanda's eyes narrow at that bit of information, quickly turning it over in her head. Now this is something that she feels more certain of. The larger problems, the more wide-scale fights, these are the things with which she feels most comfortable.]

Has this threat been identified, or directions in which the people here can be prepared to counter it?

[She may not be able to work around a hammer and nail, but with this at least she feels her abilities and training are versatile enough to be of some use.]

Wanda's eyes narrow in response, not recognizing him but certainly not pleased by that greeting. It's a shock, compared to all the others, and it puts Wanda on guard even more than before.]

As for work, there's enough of a variety, depending on what your interests or strengths are, though maintaining the job itself also depends on how your kedan boss feels towards us 'foreigners.'

'Any insight' would take a while. How about you pick something to start with and I'll fill you in? [He's all for sharing information about their situation, but Bruce is the last person likely to give long exposition without specific prompting. Way too much talking for him.]
