[Wanda learned years ago how to hide her true feelings behind a calm, almost bored expression. She knew how to control her body language to seem relaxed when she wasn't, and how to rely on subtle nuances of tone to get her point across. So it's not difficult to hide the anxiousness and tension she feels in her Water sector suite. She's separated from her brother, really separated, for the first time in her life, and also from the team she's come to trust and rely on. In some ways, she even considered them her friends.

Lips pursed, she flips on the console in her suite and leans back in her chair, by all appearances entirely unruffled by her current circumstances. Dressed in her Ultimates uniform, she crosses one leg over the other and periodically takes sips from the glass of water in her hand.

Those familiar with her alternate universe counterpart might notice a striking resemblance to the Scarlet Witch they know. Though she's at least ten years younger, her hair darker and straighter, and her uniform entirely different, her face and bearing are remarkably similar.]

As it seems highly unlikely that our hosts have provided full and completely honest details about our situation here, I'd appreciate any insight you all may have, or information they may have neglected to to give me during their orientation.

[After a brief pause she continues, though the words are completely foreign to Wanda.]

It also appears to be required that I find work as well. Unless anyone's spoken to a man by the name of Fury recently, recommendations as to where I might begin looking would also be welcome.

[She ends the transmission without offering her name or listing any of her affiliations save that of Nick Fury. Those who know her will contact her, she's certain, and perhaps those familiar with Fury will as well. Anyone else she has no intention of enlightening any more than is absolutely necessary. Not until she gets a better impression of the climate of the city and the other foreigners living in it.]

It's pretty complicated. People claim t'know me all the time, but I don't know who they are.

So, yeah. There're others.

[Perhaps she's spent too much time with S.H.I.E.L.D. but she wants more information than she's getting from Rogue. Her expression flickers briefly with impatience before she continues.]

I'd appreciate any names you could provide.

[There, that was polite, wasn't it?]

They aren't really mine to give, sugah.

_{( And that's said while fixing the console with a defiant stare. )}

[Hmph. She supposes she should have expected that. Well, no matter.]

Very well, as you like. Do you have any other useful information that is yours to give?

_{( She pauses, then holds up a hand and notes the points she's making on her fingers. )}

The native population here is pretty much openly hostile to us.

There are a lot of "superheroes" around, but I don't think their worlds are a lot like ours.

Last week we very barely avoided a complete disaster when a satellite crashed onto the turtle. Apparently stuff like that isn't uncommon.

[Wanda nods, listening carefully to each point as its given.]

I've heard the cause of some of that hostility, and the presence of other powered beings is not surprising. The satellite, as I understand it, lead to the possession of locals and foreigners alike...

Many things to cause chaos but all without a pattern or predictability, yes?

That's kinda the definition of chaos, yeah.

Lovely. I'm so glad to find myself in the middle of this.

[Bitter much, Wanda?]

Have you been here long?

Yeah? Tell me about it.

_{( Someone else isn't happy, either. )}

For me it's only been a few months. Not nearly as long as some people.

Oh? How long have others been here then?

Maybe... a year, almost? The way Storm talked 'bout things, it's been awhile.

[She inhales, just a touch too sharply to hide the fact that it's a reaction to the news. A year separated from everyone? A year that no one with all of their talents has been able to sort this mess out?]

And in all that time, no one has returned? No one has come looking for anyone?

I don't know all of the specifics, but yeah. As far I was concerned, 'Ro was with me about ten minutes before I got here. And then when I did, I learned she'd been here for all that time.

Doesn't make much sense, but there you go.

[Making a face, lips forming a thin line, she nods.]

Then we definitely can't rely on any of the others to get us back home. All we have is who is here now...

[And Wanda's finding it hard to think of anyone off-hand who may have the abilities or know-how to cross dimensions. It's certainly not her forte.]

Do we have any other information or leads on that front? People who can get us home or information on what specifically was done to bring us here?

Other people probably've more than me. I haven't figured out too much, for myself.

[She hesitates a moment, then unable to help her curiosity, asks:]

What is it you've been doing since you arrived?

[It might be surprising that indicated by her tone, her question is not meant critically.]

_{( Huffily: )} Hey, I was trying to help. I don't need the third degree from you.

[Wanda looks taken aback, and her expression grows carefully neutral once more.]

I'm trying to...get a sense of this city. Of the people in it and what it's been like for the other foreigners. That's all. If you're done answering questions then by all means, hang up.

_{( Rogue kind of huffs out her breath, and then sighs. )}

Fine, I just--

Lots of people have jobs. Less that involve the kedan directly, now. I look after the Wood Sector. The trees and things, there.

[Wanda nods, accepting that without comment.]

I suppose I'll have to see if I can find other foreigners to work for then, and perhaps those who might know more about how we come and go to this world.

[Since Rogue has no information on that front, Wanda will do her best to discover it herself. And if she does...well, Wanda clearly hesitates to make this offer:]

Would you like me to keep in touch if I learn anything?

[They have never been allies, all they share is that they are mutants from the same world. But Rogue has been helpful so it only seems fair.]

...that'd be nice, yeah.

Figure we could help each other out, if we find out anything.

[Wanda nods, inwardly relieved that at least in this situation they can put any differences they may have aside. Well aware of her reputation among humans and mutants, she's pleased that the larger issues at hand can take precedence.]

Exactly my thoughts. I'll let you know if I learn anything useful. Until then I have a great deal of information to sift through.

[Said in a way that she plans on disconnecting momentarily, unless Rogue has anything else she'd like to discuss.]
