[audio]
[Her tone is blunt, sharp, faintly accented. No preamble.]
We are here to fight a war. How many of you are remotely prepared?
[She's guessing like three. But then again, she has high standards for preparedness.]
We are here to fight a war. How many of you are remotely prepared?
[She's guessing like three. But then again, she has high standards for preparedness.]
audio;
I am not an army.
audio;
[Her own war was a private one, after all.]
audio; PRIVATE 8T he knows how to do this now.
[ A short huff and the sounds of Iorveth scrubbing a hand over his face. ] The wars I have wages have been against men of bone, flesh and blood. I did not need to wonder how to kill them.
audio; private
[Possibly she is ribbing him good-naturedly.
Or... well, not good-naturedly. But some kind of naturedly.]
We will fight and we will overcome. I do not know anything else, and I suspect the same of you.
[There is a curious tilt to her head, a slight rustle of clothing the only thing to indicate it.]
That is, if you do not mind a human woman at your side.
[More teasing, lbr.]
audio; private
[ Still there's a vaguely amused tone in it. How much can he really talk about that? He knows that his war back home won't be won, but he went through with killing a king that would have him hunted just because he could. Maybe it was more of a statement. But statements don't really matter in this. They won't be killed because of any kind of prejudice, simply because it was what this thing does. Or at least what it seems like it does. A good point to question the Emperor on later.
There's a laugh at that and he rolls his shoulders, shrugging off the concern of it. It's stupid not be be concerned, but it's also stupid to spend time that won't help being concerned. ]
And expand our ear collection while we're at it. [ Lol, Aisha, u shut ur face ] I am convinced you have some manner of Aen Seidhe blood in you. Perhaps abandoned at birth.
audio; private
[Since really, it's all she's ever known. And then he gets a snort.]
One can never have too many ears.
[Then, idly,]
Is it the enjoyment of conflict or the sharp tongue that drives your suspicion?
audio; private
[ Still spoken bemusedly. Are you a ballerina, Aisha? And a legit laugh at the question. ]
Hm, it's hard to say. [ Mock-contemplative pause. ] The lack of bullshit.
audio; private
[There is a rhythm to a fight, something inescapable. Cold beauty. She has seen it in the dying light of the eyes of Russian boys. It is a dance, but only the best of them survive it. She can accept that. It's why she's the best.
(Roque still beat her, though. She's never forgiven that. She would gladly gut him while he lay writhing).
At his next words, though, she laughs. It's not an entirely pleasant sound, though it has all the hallmarks of being so. Maybe it's the implied violence behind it.]
Perhaps that is why we have yet to kill each other.
audio; private
[ Someone had actually challenged iorveth to a duel earlier and he nearly laughed. This like that are for knights and pretty noble men with frivolous titles. When you draw a blade on someone, you draw it to spill blood until there is none left to flow.
Oh Aisha you know just the right words to say to him ugu ]
I'm very scarce on conversation partners I don't regularly consider decapitating, it would be an unfortunate loss.
audio; private
[She's killed plenty of people as a warning to their colleagues, for example.]
Hm. I imagine it would prove quite unfortunate.
[And then, more seriously,]
You and I should speak. Strategize. Include Fenris, Una Persson. Are there others you trust?
audio; private
[ ugu the good ol days ]
I can count on a single hand those I trust without using all fingers. [ gurl u should know that. there's a tired sigh ] But there are others I have included. Out of necessity.
audio; private
[She's interested to see if they have any overlap.]
audio; private
Not telling. [ Said in an amused sort of way that isn't definitively joking or not ]
audio; private
Then I shall make inferences of my own.
