[The feed clicks on to reveal a red-headed teen with yellow eyes, who's currently peering at the device like it's going to explode.]
Okay, power button. Check. I thought this could be like that episode of The Twilight Zone where they execute people by blowing up in their rooms and that maybe someone was clever for a change and made the self-destruct button look like the on/off. But! Obviously not, because I'm still here.
I think I'm getting paranoid. It's like there's this voice in my head going -
[Bart holds two fingers up to either side of his head, so they stick up through his hair like ears.]
"Trust nothing."
[He puts his arms down, and he really drops them. They're just suddenly gone, and the camera picks up maybe two frames of the action, but even that's a little lost in a yellow flash. Bart only laughs with relief.]
Hey! Look at that, they weren't lying about that either. Now, if it would just hurry up and work all the time.
So, uh. Hi. Bart Allen. Anyone know where to find the games on this thing? I gotta pass the time until the rest of you slow down.

I don't think there is? Pretty sure what I was drinking was untouched and... [Internal keysmash.]
You have no idea how happy I am to see you. Even if it's in this place.
Two's better than one. Especially when it's me and you - we've got this.
But there's the hair thing.
[He raises an eyebrow.]
Hair thing? Gotta admit yours isn't as crazy!
Hey - my hair was awesome. I just gave it a trim. It cuts down on drag. But yours - tell me you're not going back to the fade.
Awesome? Seriously? Uh, no. [He frowns at that comment Bart.]
I'm rockin' it! I'm not going...oh no. [He rubs his face and sighs.] Damn.
Carol thought my hair was cute.
Damn? Gonna say more than that, because I've got like twenty three different reasons in my head for it?
[He slumps into his chair and rest his face in his hands and groans.]
Dude, you're from my future. Totally figures. No one here if from my time.
I've always been from the future. That helps, right?
This sucks. You're from the past, he's from the future. Now I'm stuck in the middle.
Yeah I guess, duh way to totally forget that one of your buddies is from the future.
He? [There's a really long pause, even longer for you Bart, as he thinks who he is then...click!] Oh, him! Yeah. Totally used to being the 'Past' guy. So when exactly are you from? I mean people are from all over, last major thing I remember from home, was a few weeks before I got here when we all became adults.
I'm from - yeah, when is a super complicated question. I'm about... a year or two ahead? Linear time. Except it hasn't actually been linear for me, it's been all over the place. I can't keep track.
It gets complicated here as well. I mean, I've seen the future? To a point. Not experienced it, seen it.
Hang on, where are you any way? Except it's probably be quicker if I told you where I was, huh?
I wasn't dodging the question! If I say the last thing I remember is defeating the Reverse-Flash, well, you were there, but you haven't been yet so it's not gonna do any good. That's my best guess how long it's been.
I'm in the room they gave me. It's, uh-
[Blink. Bart's gone to check exactly what building he's in. He's back a second later.]
Does ME-3B mean anything to you?
[He smiles at that.]
Metal sector. I'm Wood. We should totally meet up instead of being losers and talking over this.
[He blurs, but then he's still sitting.]
Where's Wood?
[Video] Want to go to action?
[He grins.]
[Video to Action] Sure!
[Bart ends the feed here, but he goes back and forth between waiting at the door and checking for responses until Kon shows up.]
[Action]
It was maybe 30 to 45 minutes before he came into the more residential area of Metal. C'mon, he's not got Conner's speed and it's a big turtle...to him any way. It takes about another five until he finds the number of the suite and knocks on the door. There's no point in talking because Bart will be there.]
[Action]
He flings open the door, pokes Kon on the chest, and grins.]
Yup, it's you. I wasn't sure - I thought maybe it was really good computer animation. Or VR. I guess it still could be VR, but I don't wanna know if it is. Hi.
[Action]
No VR could capture my awesome so perfectly! Or animation either, just sayin'.
Hey!
[He invites himself in and looks around. Places are always so different here on Tu Vishan.]
Nice digs!
[Action]
Bart doesn't mind the intrusion at all. He wasn't going to leave him at the door, after all.]
Ha! You'd be shocked. I bet you still think Playstation is high-tech.
[Bart looks around at the place as well. He's seen it, but he hasn't really paid it any attention.]
It's cool-looking, I guess. Still kinda a cage.
[Because they've been kidnapped.]
[Action]
Duh! It doesn't use cartridges and you can play CDs on it.
[His arms go back to his sides and he smiles.]
I think people keep forgetting that fact. That we're here against our will and you know the kicker? We still haven't been told what we're actually here for.
[Action]
The Playstation 3 is better, but it still doesn't have a neural feed.
[He folds his arms across his chest, and the corner of his mouth pulls back into a half-frown. Hrrrr.]
Kiiinda hard to forget that one. Everyone keeps distracting me from it, though. How long is still?
[Action]
[His smile falls back and he sighs, throwing his arms up and behind his head.]
You'd think it was, right? But nope, loads of people just seem to forget and live life as much as possible like they were back home. Or that's how it comes across.
Ten months. That's how long I've been here and that's how long the stupid Emperor hasn't said anything.
