I'm looking for anyone with experience in the medical profession past the year 1790 that would be willing to bring me up to speed, in a way. As this would be a great favor to ask, I am of course willing to compensate through the exchange of knowledge or... something else, should that not be sufficient.

There are numerous doctors here as well. It depends on how much you're looking or willing to learn.

Ideally I would like to learn as much as possible, but for starters emergency care would be sufficient. Since my arrival I've learned that some of the methods we use in my time has since been deemed unnecessary or even harmful to the patient.

I would like to avoid doing damage simply by lacking the necessary knowledge of medical advances.

I've devoted my life to science. Any personal gain I get from furthering my skills as a surgeon would certainly benefit others first and foremost, but I fail to see the fault in that.

( she's the best. at least in her universe, but if asked she'd probably claim to be the best on the turtle anyway. arrogance has always been high on her list of flaws. )

A fascinating area of study... I've seen experiments with electricity fairly recently that displayed the mechanics of the nerves and the effect they have on the body, so I would be most intrigued to see what else there is.

Although his knowledge of medicine dates to 1832 only, one of my oldest friends has opened and operates a clinic here. He may know more of medicine specific to the area, and you should meet at any rate.

That would be most helpful indeed, monsieur. I doubt I'll be able to catch up with 300 years of medical advances, but a few decades shouldn't be impossible.

Oh, that must've been... a bizarre discovery. [ One he can't wrap his head around just yet. ] I made some disconcerting discoveries myself not long ago, but I do think I've started to make myself somewhat at home here. As much as one can, in any case.

Just how much a difference two hundred years can make. [ A somewhat sheepish smile at that. ] I knew there were time differences of course, but it doesn't quite hit home as much as the moment you realize what you thought were the very forefront of modern medicine is really terribly obsolete.
