004 ◉ audio; dated to the 14th
[ The audio clicks on and there's a long pause. When Kyle speaks, his tone is calm, perfectly controlled. It's his Business Voice, blank save for the barest hint of anger. ]
This is Kyle Rayner of the Green Lantern Corps. I apologise for the inconvenience, but our clinic at EA-3B is currently undergoing repairs and won't be able to take more patients at this time. We'll be temporarily operating a backup at WA-1A. [ He attaches a map, showing where it is. ]
Any and all hands with medical experience or healing abilities are always welcome.
[ Another long pause. ]
And if someone could come collect Avatar Korra, that would be appreciated.
[ There is a brief pause, as though he's debating what more to say, before the audio clicks off. ]

More easily fixed than I thought. Surprising what a little muscle can do when applied correctly.
[Yes, this is a not-so-subtle insult at the person who destroyed it in the first place.]
Not at the moment, but in case we need transport, can I have your name?

Asbel Lhant. Ah...
[He hesitates for a moment, since it's clearly a touchy subject.]
Do you mind if I ask what happened? Is she being taken care of?
[He means Korra, but without any information on what's going on Asbel's not sure how he should feel about what happened.]
audio; 100% encrypted
[Beat, and he flips up the encryption.]
I don't mind. She burned down half the building. None of the essentials were hit [because he can still do his damn job, but he trails off, shrugging, even though Asbel can't see it.] She's being taken care of elsewhere.
[His tone implies she had better not think of doing it again.]
audio; piggybacking encryption!
[Sorry, he'll get to the introduction stage again in a second did he just say Korra burned down half a clinic.]
...It's...good to meet you too, sir. Kyle. [it's the military bearing. Asbel calls him 'sir' without even thinking about it, and has to correct himself to the actual name. Seven years in training does things to a boy.]
I'm sorry, I don't know her that well, but that seems a little...[Like a complete overreaction why would you do that, Korra?] Can you tell me what happened before she did that? Any idea why?
[He's trying to understand the people involved, because that's how Asbel rolls, but he's clearly still pretty stunned at the 'Korra burned down half a clinic' stage.]
perma-that until otherwise stated
[He lets a little pause lapse, gathering himself, before he speaks, clearly, and matter-of-factly.]
Amon is permitted to remain on my premises [so I can keep an eye on him, but a soldier knows that] for his self-defence classes. She saw the information poster, and there went the wall and the ceiling.
[Despite his self-control, however, there is a faint note of anger still in his voice, he feels justified in using far worse force than he did, because he was livid at people in his house being attacked.]
no subject
[He's missing a lot of pieces, but he's starting to see a picture. Asbel knows that tone, and can pretty easily deduce that, despite that, Korra doesn't like Amon in the slightest.]
She...didn't believe you weren't working with him, did she?
[He sounds a little sad at that, more than angry. That sort of lashing out, that sort of anger and paranoia...reminds him of the coup. Reminds him of Richard. Reminds him that the very beginning wasn't unbelievable behavior for him, after everything that happened.
It's not something he wants to be reminded of.]
no subject
[The anger is still there, but sadness has crept into it. He hates using force. He hates being made to.]
It's highly unlikely she's going to believe the truth. Not at this stage.
no subject
[He's thinking aloud more than expects Kyle to have an answer. But as far as Asbel's concerned, that's the missing piece.]
no subject
[A beat.]
But it's not the black and white issue either of them present it as.
no subject
[he sighs.]
I'm sorry, I don't think I know her well enough that she'd listen to me if I tried to talk to her about it.
no subject
[Grumble, grumble.]
We could all do with some more common sense.
no subject
I think people are still too freaked out for a lot of that, after the loss of power.
no subject
[Calm, and firm.]
