[ The audio clicks on and there's a long pause. When Kyle speaks, his tone is calm, perfectly controlled. It's his Business Voice, blank save for the barest hint of anger. ]

This is Kyle Rayner of the Green Lantern Corps. I apologise for the inconvenience, but our clinic at EA-3B is currently undergoing repairs and won't be able to take more patients at this time. We'll be temporarily operating a backup at WA-1A. [ He attaches a map, showing where it is. ]

Any and all hands with medical experience or healing abilities are always welcome.

[ Another long pause. ]

And if someone could come collect Avatar Korra, that would be appreciated.

[ There is a brief pause, as though he's debating what more to say, before the audio clicks off. ]

What did Korra do?

[Not 'what happened to Korra' because he usually assumes she got into troublr.]

Nothing that can't be fixed.

[ Spock goes to the trouble to private this, though he probably wouldn't have bothered to... before. ]

You reside there, do you not? [ His tone is even, though he wonders things like why and isn't it over yet? ] ... My suite has considerable, unused space if you need a place to stay. [ because a 1A apartment will be rather cramped to try to live in while also housing patients. ]

[Although Spock can't see it, Kyle smiles at the concern, and his voice is considerably warmer.]

We do. [Both him and Sora.] Thanks, but the patients need a place more. How much space would you be willing to spare?

Was she reckless with her training, or something? As much as Korra and I haven't gotten along, she doesn't seem like the random acts of destruction type.

[Alas, Tarrlok doesn't really care about the opinions of those who think his brother is anything less than a menace anyways.]

Is she usually the type to lose control?

[His tone is (imperceptibly) slightly softer at this.]

She's a bit careless at times, but nothing I'd describe as losing control. Did something happen?

[There's a long pause as Kyle goes off, away from the microphone, to collect himself. He's still angry, and he lets none of that show in his flat tone.]

She was extremely careless. Half the building's gone.

You're saying Korra destroyed half of a clinic?

[He sighs. There is one thing he can think of that would make her - or most any bender, really - lose control.]

Was my brother involved?

Believe it or not, no.

[Not directly, anyway.]

Hm. Well, I don't know anything but him that could set her off like that. Frankly, I'm still surprised my brother is allowed to set foot near a clinic but if he wasn't involved, I suppose it's not my business.

[He's just amused that people think he's being bosom buddies with Amon, when he's actually being kept close so that he doesn't step out of line. But anyone who can't figure that out doesn't deserve to know, so Kyle won't be the one to tell them.]

Is she living by herself? Is there someone to look after her?

[Read: 'keep her in line'.]

[Tarrlok doesn't believe it's actually possible for Amon to be anything but out of line, all the time, so the thought that anyone would be keeping him in line never crosses his mind.]

I don't know. She's one of those free spirited types.

[Wonderful, he doesn't say. Out of control and nobody to get her to quit it.]

I see. Thank you for your time.

[ Jack has no freaking idea what's going on but he assumes the flat tone means that Kyle's not okay and so things are automatically not okay. ]

The clinic? What happened? Why do you need a backup clinic? Is everyone okay?

Wait, what do you mean "collect" Korra?

[He takes a deep breath and steels himself before turning on audio. Korra had come looking for Jack and Kyle's temper is very much not defused; she'd threatened the people there in his name, too.]

Nobody's injured.

[Thank goodness. Or he would be a lot angrier.]

She's unconscious; someone needs to come take her home.

[I want her out of my sight, as far away from HQ as possible, and kept in line.]

What? If she's unconscious she should stay where the doctors are. Did she pass out in the heat? She doesn't like it either...

[ He stands from the console he's using, reaching for his staff nearby. ]

I don't know where she lives, only that it's in the Metal Sector, I'll come wait with her until someone comes though.

Hey, I've got three floors. Use 'em for whatever.

[Now what the hell happened?]

[He ups the encryption, just in case.]

Thanks. We've got a lot of the people settled, and we can make house calls.

[Then he lets out a breath.]

It's a near miracle nobody was injured. She nearly burned the building down.

Can you take her to your place?

[I don't want her here.]

[ Forgive him for not leaping for joy; he had too much crazy from chasing down crazy cultists to be anything more than simply exhausted. If maybe a little mystified the Avatar could be this reckless. He expected her coming here to spell trouble for his attempts at building a better reputation.

Amon thought he would be jumping hoops to convince others what a nuisance Korra could be. This place was just full of surprises. ]

Your patients can be moved to my clinic until better arrangements can be made.

Though I would like it kept quiet where they're being moved- the buildings here are markedly more flammable.

[ Jack doesn't miss that Kyle isn't really answering any of his questions, doesn't know why and can't get a good read on an audio only feed (he never had a good read on Kyle though) and exhales through his nose, then nods. ]

Okay. I'm on my way.

Thanks. It'll only be for a few weeks.

[One of the things he can trust Amon with? It's the healing bit. Whatever other reason he may have for keeping his clinic open, at least he helps make people better.]

[When Jack arrives, Kyle is standing, arms folded, next to an unconscious Korra who's on a construct stretcher. The entire building is smoking, the first and second floors ripped open unceremoniously. Pipes are leaking everywhere and the floor... well the less said about the floor (or lack of it), the better. There are a few patients still outside, Suxin is moving them away to a different building.]

[He nods at Jack.]

Hey.

[His expression, tone, and body language are reading as an utter blank.]

Hey...

[ Even he thinks that kind of greeting is absurd, given the scene which literally looks like something off a movie set. He approaches both of them, casting a worried glance at Korra though he can see no injuries. Whatever happened, he is at least bright enough to deduce this isn't heatstroke. His gaze returns to Kyle but the man is a veritable blank canvas and he takes another step closer, blue eyes searching. Kyle had said no one was injured but... ]

Are you all right? What happened here?
