[ The audio clicks on and there's a long pause. When Kyle speaks, his tone is calm, perfectly controlled. It's his Business Voice, blank save for the barest hint of anger. ]

This is Kyle Rayner of the Green Lantern Corps. I apologise for the inconvenience, but our clinic at EA-3B is currently undergoing repairs and won't be able to take more patients at this time. We'll be temporarily operating a backup at WA-1A. [ He attaches a map, showing where it is. ]

Any and all hands with medical experience or healing abilities are always welcome.

[ Another long pause. ]

And if someone could come collect Avatar Korra, that would be appreciated.

[ There is a brief pause, as though he's debating what more to say, before the audio clicks off. ]

What? If she's unconscious she should stay where the doctors are. Did she pass out in the heat? She doesn't like it either...

[ He stands from the console he's using, reaching for his staff nearby. ]

I don't know where she lives, only that it's in the Metal Sector, I'll come wait with her until someone comes though.

[I don't want her here.]

[ Jack doesn't miss that Kyle isn't really answering any of his questions, doesn't know why and can't get a good read on an audio only feed (he never had a good read on Kyle though) and exhales through his nose, then nods. ]

Okay. I'm on my way.

[When Jack arrives, Kyle is standing, arms folded, next to an unconscious Korra who's on a construct stretcher. The entire building is smoking, the first and second floors ripped open unceremoniously. Pipes are leaking everywhere and the floor... well the less said about the floor (or lack of it), the better. There are a few patients still outside, Suxin is moving them away to a different building.]

[He nods at Jack.]

Hey.

[His expression, tone, and body language are reading as an utter blank.]

[ Even he thinks that kind of greeting is absurd, given the scene which literally looks like something off a movie set. He approaches both of them, casting a worried glance at Korra though he can see no injuries. Whatever happened, he is at least bright enough to deduce this isn't heatstroke. His gaze returns to Kyle but the man is a veritable blank canvas and he takes another step closer, blue eyes searching. Kyle had said no one was injured but... ]

Are you all right? What happened here?

[imaginate]

We're fine. She came here looking for you, and [waves a hand towards the ruins] passed out.

[He gestures to the stretcher and it disappears, he's now holding Korra in his arms, and hands her over, stiffly.]

I have civilians to tend to.

[wintershepherd]

For me?

[ It's a genuine surprise and he can't quite figure how that piece fits into the puzzle, but then Kyle approaches him with Korra and the spirit accepts, holding her with care and surprising ease so that her head was against his shoulder. He gives the Lantern a look that says he'll want more information but he won't push for answers now, not when Kyle has people to help. ]

Okay. Talk later?

[imaginate]

[Flatly:] Yes, for you.

[He doesn't hear the rest of it, as he's already turned around, and heading to help Suxin.]

[ Jack stares after him for a moment, baffled and irritated (they were reasonable questions; he cared) and then he turns his focus back to Korra, taking her away from the Clinic. ]
