littlecousin: (what do you mean my plan is terrible?)

[Nita is sopping wet, and, unusually for her, breathing heavily. She pushed herself hard getting back to the city from the barrier so she could warn people.]

Okay, I don't want to freak anyone out-- [she herself is clearly freaked out, or at least unsettled] --but all those corpses floating around in the water? They're moving now, and they're not friendly.

[She stands up to emphasize that the outfit she's wearing has been ripped to (somehow miraculously Comics Code-acceptable) shreds. Sorry, Favrielle.]

They're not all that good in the water, but they're fast and strong and they bite really hard. And they keep going even after they've had their heads torn off. [...She overreacted, okay.]

It looks like the barrier is keeping them out, but stay out of the water.

I know there must be a couple people here who can handle the pressure outside and not drown, so I'm curious: has anyone tried to go past the barrier to see if there's anything interesting out there?

For that matter, I know getting information from kedan is like pulling teeth, but has anyone been able to find out why the turtle's diving now? Or how often this happens, at least?

[Hellboy has a bad feeling about this. He’s been prowling around the barrier since the moment the Turtle hit bottom, and he hasn’t stopped since. The corpses in the water were unnerving, and when they started to stir in their watery graves, he learns he has every right to be worried.

Technology really isn’t his favorite thing. That’s why Hellboy tries his best to avoid using the network as much as he can. But seeing those horrible things pressing themselves against the barrier like a pack of hungry, undead kids in a candy store means it’s time to suck it up and try his hand at a PSA. If things really do end up going to crap, maybe it’ll count for something.

So early in the unwavering dark of an undersea afternoon, he stations himself in one of the console cafés somewhere near the edge of the city, doing his best to prepare for the worst.]

Hope this thing’s as zombie-proof as it is waterproof.

[Yeah… right. As if it’s ever that simple.]

Just in case anyone didn’t notice, we have a few visitors outside trying to drop by uninvited.
I’ve heard people have been able to travel in and out of the barrier pretty easily. That means there’s a good chance those things might find their way through.

My advice… don’t panic. Stay home, stay away from the barrier.

If anyone has enough firepower to blow up or burn a zombie, let me know. I know we’ve got some talented people out there. Would probably be a good idea to have people out and ready just in case.

[So this is Hellboy trying to be proactive without stirring up too much of a panic. It’s not his usual style, but he does the best he can. There’s really no way of preparing for something like this. But if things really do start going south, prepared or not, it’s gonna get ugly. So he’ll be out there, and he’ll be waiting.]

Okay, those zombies beyond the barrier? Not so beyond it anymore.

They're falling down and getting up. They're still fast and it doesn't matter what you do, they won't stay down.

I suggest staying in your suite and boarding up if you don't have any other way to defend yourself. If anyone is going to go out against them, [Because he knows there will be.] be careful. The last thing anyone wants or needs is death and adding to their numbers.

[He doesn't know if their bites work that way, but he's taking the guess they do cause...zombies.]

[It seems like barely a few days ago that Sep talked to the network. He doesn’t usually, so he feels it. Nor is this the same easy, almost lazily arrogant young man of that particular video. His eyes are a little sharper and even calculating, his voice crisp, and what is quite obviously military precision in his body language.]

An invasion of animate dead bodies in tightly enclosed quarters is a new experience I could have done without.

While the Palace has been offered as a sanctuary, I know not everyone, outer sectors especially, will be able to reach it--or will want to. [After all, there’s something sketchy going on with the Emperor. He can understand that attitude.] WA-3A has been fortified, and as I work out of it as a rule, it has a basic medic station if you get injured and can’t make it anywhere else. Feel free to come here either for patching up or shelter. If you have any medic skills to offer, we'd be happy to host you for the duration as well.

[He hesitates, and for a moment looks regretful and a little softer around the edges.] Sadly, I haven’t heard anything about a way to counter the effects of a bite, and finding one would take time to experiment—something which I don’t have.

Evandau’s patrols won’t be doing wider sweeps of the city. I expect he has limited men with which to do so. [There may be an implication of ‘this is the only good excuse for his not doing so.’] I am not about to let anyone trapped or choosing to remain in outer sectors go undefended. I sincerely hope I won’t be the only one. We’ll be more effective if we are coordinated.

[He glances down critically, nods to himself, and after a moment turns to sheathe and toss a newly sharpened dagger on the bed behind him. The movement reveals notably Roman-esque laid out on it.] To that end, if you want to help, I’m holding a strategy session here in WA-3A in two hours. I’d like to get some people set for civilian escorts, both on standby for requests and in regular sweeps. I would also like to get enough people together to start making some tactical strikes.

[Pause.] If anyone has lightning, fire, or flight capabilities, I’d really like to talk.

[When Tris's feed flashes up, he looks concerned and a little out of breath. He'd been in the Fire district when the undead had broken through the barrier, and he'd stayed there until he could no longer hold his barriers up. Instead, he'd fought with sword and magic to get back home, trying to save as many kedan as he could. And that was when it had happened.]

I feel like there is finally something I can do to help people here. When those creatures kill, they steal souls. I watched them do it to the kedan and I should have been able to feel the soul leaving this world, only that didn't happen. The kedan died but his soul was consumed by the undead. It wasn't safe enough to free the soul and allow the kedan to pass over, not when I was alone, but I'm confident that if I had aid holding the creatures that I could free the souls of those who have been killed.

I guess I'm offering to help anyone who loses their friends or family to these creatures. If anyone needs any aid fighting as well, I am skilled with a sword and also have quite powerful magic. Please don't hesitate to ask for help. I'll go wherever I'm needed.
