To everyone who has found themselves in someone else's body: stop. panicking.

[ This is something she has rather personal experience with and while she knows that 'disconcerting' doesn't even begin to cover it, Raven feels like she's talking down a hysterical Starfire all over again. ]

Find whomever you've switched with and talk to them. It's in their best interests to help you with any abilities or requirements their body has.

Don't tell them to be reasonable. This is hilarious, and the humor will just keep stacking up as time goes on.

As tempting as that is... the only books I'm going through now are ones that I think may have some chance of reversing the effects.

Yes. The Lexicon of Achiad'r has a very similar spell to what's happened here, I've been seeing if the same parameters would work for undoing it.

Effectively a big surprise grab-bag of "fuck you guys" then? Now that sounds like a fun bit of mischief under deliberate conditions.

Not exactly, but it does let the spell determine the outcome. It's not usually used for physical transformations for... obvious reasons.

Ah, heh, no. Loki does not do stage fright so much as self-preservation. No doubt you've met those with magics more naturally inclined to flipping the proverbial table than setting it aright. I'm that brand of being.

[ Raven's silent for a moment; her thoughts going back to Malchior and the magic he'd taught her. It wasn't the alignment of the spells that mattered... it was the alignment of the person using them. ]

If you ask me, the table is already flipped. At the very least, I'd be willing to hear out any ideas you might have, even if she's not.

Buuut talking about yourself in the third person doesn't exactly inspire confidence.

It's a cultural quirk, not a sign of encroaching madness.

I might be able to offer some insights, however. Conceptually, these sorts of spells are well within my purview. Are you familiar with the work of Sunnhvatr the Burning? Eighth century Norse mortal that sold his soul to a demon with a terrible sense of humor?

That might depend on who you ask.

[ Raven casts her thoughts to her extensive recollection but eventually shook her head though her tone conveys that she's interested in the explanation. ]

I think it's a little late for that. All of that.

It's not a secret, they're shield wards-- magical barriers. I use several, both personal and perimeter.

Sounds handy. Do they just--repel everything that gets thrown at them, magical or physical or whatever?

Some are for magical energies and some are for physical. There are ones that block both but they're draining to maintain all the time.

I guess it's the magical equivalent of having a security system set up in your place, huh?

Basically, yes. Most magic users get into that habit of maintaining them.

No problem. [But he has another question, sorry.] So, wait. If you can do magic stuff though, can you figure out what went wrong and fix it?

I've been working on it, but the magic that initiated this is very different than the kinds that I know. Between that and interacting with the energies generated by the turtle, it's going to take some time to sort out.

There have been several effects, that seems to be one of them. Ages, bodies, powers.

It's some kind of spell right? I got his with the age one, it's a little bit awkward.

It's more like magic running amok than anything; a spell is like a direction, from point A to point B. This... is more like a detour that got lost.

Such a concise reply to the masses, tactful. I'm impressed.

This entire problem happened because someone experimented without knowing what they were doing. Doesn't that speak for itself?

Nah. I'm not that lucky. But with all the weird things that happen here, I'm not surprised. I'm just glad it's been harmless for the most part.

I think we can all be glad for that. Uncontrolled magic usually isn't benign.

Well, at least we can look on the bright side this time. It could have ended up turning us all into something much worse.
