001 ‡ Video
[There’s a handsome young man sitting in front of the console in a really tight t-shirt that shows off pretty much every muscle in his chest. For the moment, his eyes are a dark blue, and there’s a brooding look on his face. When he crosses his arms over his chest, people can see the leather gloves he’s wearing.
Jonah hasn't really wanted to use this thing, but he can recognize the advantage of being able to talk to people without actually being around them.] I have a couple of questions. First, is there a dry cleaners around here, or does anyone know how to get blood out of denim? Second, gloves. Where is the best place I can get a few pairs? Third, I’m in search of a sword. Any will do at the moment.
[His jaw clenches for a second, shoulders tense.] Another thing. If the words ‘Anchorage’, ‘savant’, or ‘weirstones’ means anything to you, let me know.

Anchorage, savant and weirdstones mean nothing to me. Nor does 'dry cleaners' or 'denim'.
The best way to remove blood from fabrics is with the spit of the person whose blood it is.
[ video ]
That's not really going to be possible. [Because they're dead. And he isn't really sure whose blood it is.] Considering that I doubt they were brought along on this adventure.
[ video ]
Then find another way. I have offered you help. Another way is to get new clothing, as the rest of us who have arrived bloodstained have done.

You're saying that you've got clothes covered and blood, and you're asking for people to give you another weapon?
I'm going to take that as a good sign. If you were an evil sociopath, you probably wouldn't have mentioned the first part.

I left my sword back home, and protection seems to be a necessity here. I thought it was a prudent request. [A shrug.]
Or maybe it's just a brilliant cover.

[Skeptical face here] Well if it was, you just made me suspicious by pointing it out. Reverse psychology only works if you don't let people know you're reversing it.

But if you need a sword, there's a shop in the metal sector called the Flame and Forge that makes good ones and sells them at a reasonable price.

Define reasonable, exactly.

And getting blood out depends on how long it's been sitting there. [And probably what kind, but first things first.]
video
[He makes a face. Time is weird, how is he supposed to know.] Hours?
video
[Pause.] Always cold water, and that's sometimes enough if the blood's still fresh enough. If it's really settled in and dried, try baking soda. That's probably easier to find than ammonia in this place. [another pause.] It's human blood, right?

At first, Alcuin actually thought Jonah might be another d'Angeline. But apparently not, since those words mean little to him.]
My shop sells gloves. We're in the Earth District.
[He frowns.] I assume that by 'Anchorage' you don't mean the usual sailing term?
video;
How much? [He doesn't have a lot of coin, but he can definitely get some in a short amount of time.]
It's a school for damaged children in Ohio.

Cold water and some salt seems to be the recipe of choice. And Anchorage like... largest community in North America north of the 60th parallel?

It seems like nobody really has one direct way of removing blood. No, it's... the school that I'm from. [A beat.] Do you have a sefa? [Is that why you're invisible, bro?]
