Greetings. I am Commander Spock of the USS Enterprise, a Starfleet contingent of the United Federation of Planets. I understand that we are temporally isolated as well as spatially displaced and that this is not a subdivision of any one possible multiverse, neither a pocket dimension of any one universe, but a unique quantum singularity linking many and each possible variation thereof. If others here have scientific findings of this nature, I pre-emptively extend my gratitude in the event of any information being divulged.
[ AKA pls share ur theories. He's not human, in case anyone with eyes and ears missed the blatant memo staring them in the face, the approximation of what would happen were a dollop of raw science and a great jawline to get mixed with an elf in a blender. Spock pauses thoughtfully, glancing away, and a single slender brow arches when he looks back; there are likely a great deal of customs to be observed from numerous new species and races, none of which he seeks to offend. ]
It has been brought to my attention that this is not my first foray into Keeliai. While I would request that you exert a measure of patience with my ... freshly acquired outlook, you will find me amenable to revisiting former acquaintances. [ Again he hesitates, though this time it comes across as more of an amendment. If you've been hanging out with his BFF, prepare to explain why, how and to what end. ] Similarly, I wish to meet with any and all allies of Captain James T. Kirk at their earliest convenience.
All remaining Starfleet personnel are to submit a fully comprehensive report effective immediately regarding their time here. Audio will suffice, given the circumstances.
[ And off goes the feed. ]
Video;
[ In a vastly packed-down, bundled nutshell. ]
He places a great deal of emphatic import on his friends. It is therefore a logical course of action to discover the reasoning behind his selection in a high-anxiety environment.
Video;
Do you always talk like this, or only when you're on giant turtles?
Video;
Why would my placement upon a reptile directly affect my vernacular?
Video;
[She's given up on that, after Temeraire befriending Amon and people liking Batman. Logic just doesn't exist there anymore for her.]
Video;
How did you determine that?
Video;
We ate sea prunes together.
[Incredibly serious.]
Video;
Video;
But really, we met when I was starting to learn to read and write English. That's when the Captain came over and we got to know each other. I told him about my world and he told me about Starfleet and the Enterprise.
[Her eyes flick over the badge on his shirt.]
Video;
[ There are Rules, and he's starting to strongly suspect absolutely no one here from the Federation is following them. The badge that she glimpses is similar to Jim's, save for the three-part Sciences circle in the center instead of the falling star of Command. ]
Video;
No. We don't have starships, replicators, tricorders, or anything like that back home. [Korra gives a lopsided frown and leans on one elbow as she turns on the unhackable custom encryption Tony made for her.]

Did Jim tell you about his leg? [She knows Jim doesn't like to bring it up, so best to ask it privately.]
Video; 100% Starkcryption
He did, somewhat evasively. Could you clarify the matter?
Video; 100% Starkcryption
It was broken in a bar fight and he needed a metal plate to hold it together. [Now she knows why he didn't like to bring it up, it almost felt wrong to do so.] The next time he came to visit me, I sat him down [Yes, she managed to wrangle down one James T. Kirk.] and healed up the spiral fracture.
[And she takes a breath like she's about to continue, but she stops and exhales with a nod.]
Video; 100% Starkcryption
You have my thanks.
Video; 100% Starkcryption
[Small shrug.] He's the reason why I started volunteering at the clinic.

[ She gets a lot of points for helping out, especially for healing Jim. ]
Video; 100% Starkcryption
[Her and Bones were still rather rocky, but she gives a half grin.] I already had plans to, but sure thing, Spock. [She inclines her head and raises an eyebrow.]
Or Commander? Which is it?
Video; 100% Starkcryption
[ Little point standing on ceremony here unless others insist on it. ]
Video; 100% Starkcryption
Were it not for Bruce Banner's instruction in anger management, she would have snapped back.]
All right. Spock then. You can just call me Korra, or if you're feeling formal: Avatar Korra.
Video; 100% Starkcryption
[ He wouldn't want to assume. ]
Video; 100% Starkcryption
You want the long or short story? [She's gone through the explanation quite a few times and seems pretty indifferent either option.]
Video; 100% Starkcryption
[ Just sayin'. ]
A thorough explanation would be beneficial.

[Taking a deep breath, she starts off:]
My world has Four Nations. The Water Tribe, the Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, and the Air Nomads. Sometimes people are born with the gift to bend.
That is, they can manipulate the element of the nation they were born in. So a firebender would be from the Fire Nation and an earthbender would be from the Earth Kingdom.
[Korra actually gives a fleeting grin. Whenever she gave that example, it was always with Mako and Bolin in mind.]
Now the Avatar is actually the spirit of the planet in physical, human form and exists to maintain balance in the world. Mostly when it comes to bending since the Avatar is the only one who can bend more than one element. All four actually, and I’ve got them all down. Well, I’ve almost mastered Air anyway.
[Both her feet go onto the desk and she idly sways her boots back and forther while explaining.]
When the Avatar dies, their spirit gets reincarnated to a bender from the next nation in the cycle. Earth, Fire, Air, and Water is the order it goes in. I was born in the Southern Water Tribe, which means the last Avatar was an Air Nomad. Each time the Avatar is born, they have to learn the elements and fulfill their role as protector of the people.
There's also the Avatar's connection to the Spirit World, but I haven't had much experience with that part yet. [She is just seventeen after all. Not a spiritual prodigy like SOME OTHER Avatars were.]
Oh. And I can also talk to the spirits of the past Avatars, but that's kind of a new thing for me.
Video; 100% Starkcryption
[ Which is to say Unexpected, but still. Incredibly intriguing. ]
I have met with one who calls herself the Archive, similarly the host for thousands of years of written information. [ His head cocks. ] As the core sustaining life-force of your home-world, why have spiritual connections taken so long to re-establish?
Video; 100% Starkcryption
Each Avatar is different, some of them have an easy time getting in touch with their spiritual side and others have been like me. [She blew a raspberry and then waves it off.]
It’s a work in progress, doesn’t help that I don’t have a spirit mentor here either. [She shrugs.] After I get the hang of contact the past Avatars, things should pick up.
[She observes him for a minute and thinks about how they’ve been going back and forth before just blurting out her assessment:] Jim must have hated you when he first met you.
Video; 100% Starkcryption
[ It's a logical question! He doesn't know, maybe she doesn't have it on her homeworld. ]
