[Clark has hardly used the network to make posts as Clark lately, not since he got the radio started... but it wasn't really that he was avoiding it, not really. Investigating about the murders, then the disappearances had simply taken most of his free time, and he hadn't had much to say.

When he turns on the feed he's playing around with what looks like a calligraphy brush between his fingers, tapping the shaft against a very basic notebook.]

The new arrivals made me think of something. [And judging by the notebook, he's trying to make sense of it by himself. Those who actually know him know how fast his brain actually is... but he's always had the Kryptonian technology to back him down, and now he finds it missing.]

We're assigned living space when we get here, right? And we don't really choose it, we're simply given directions to it when we arrive. And we know there are 5 districts, and different kind of suites on each. Some of them are obvious [Hi, Arthur, of course you live in Water] but others aren't. I live in Water, while my wife was given a suite in the Earth sector.

[She didn't spend a single day there but that's beyond the point. You might actually see her on the background, she likes doing that.] And I thought maybe there could be some kind of pattern, something in the way the Kedan organize us in each district and place. It might not be relevant at all but I'd like to give it a try.

So I guess, what I'm asking is: where do you live? Have you noticed something similar between you and your neighbors? I don't know- age? Gender? Abilities? Hobbies? [A shrug] I don't really know what could be relevant. Also, feel free to answer anonymously if you'd rather- or in my inbox, to keep it private? Whichever way you feel comfortable.

And with that done... something completely different. If I'm right, Thanksgiving should be just around the corner... [The sheepish grin of someone who's completely aware that he's indulging himself] So, what are your favorite Thanksgiving day recipes?

[Had this been somebody she was a bit closer to--somebody whom she would have assumed would know, Zatanna might have rolled her eyes at the request. Why was it people always assumed magic was some great deus ex machina or get-out-of-jail-free card?]

[If that were the case, she wouldn't be getting grounded every other week.]

Not without any remote idea of what kind of spell to cast.

Believe me, much as I would love to say there's one major spell that answers all the questions of the world--it would've saved me hours of studying in school--it's just not the case. I'd have to either read the auras of every individual on the Turtle, or figure out the person in charge who makes the assignments.

[And no, she's not hexing the Emperor. Even she's not that adventurous.]

[Clark might have asked the exact same question had he been in his Superman disguise if he's honest. The problem with having an automatic hissing cat reaction to magic is that you never really learn as much about it as you would like.

And then there's the fact that he's seen the older Zatanna from his world snap her fingers, whisper backwards and change the world. He tries to keep the two of them separate in his mind, he really tries- but the Zatanna in his world is still the one he's spent the most time. He can't help that she's his 'default'.]

Would you considering reading the auras of some individuals from each sector, to get an idea?

I can try?

I mean, reading auras isn't exactly an exact science. Most of the time, it just tells me if there's some sort of magic influence being held over the person, of if they're radiating magic of their own. Beyond that, it's a lot of instinct and guess work.

We never know what we might find, and I bet Lois would try to kill me if she knew I had ignored a lead like this one.

But I wouldn't want to impose either.

[She tried not to flinch too noticeably at the sound of Lois' name, still feeling pretty guilty over the whole accidental spell ~~and death~~ thing.]

No, it's not imposing at all. If anything, I probably owe you guys.

I just don't want to get your hopes up if nothing actually comes of it.

Even if you can't get any clear reading I'll still appreciate that you tried, Zatanna. I really don't expect much to come out of this post in general, I just wanted to get people's opinion on the matter.

[He pushes his glasses up, hesitating a bit.] You know she doesn't blame you, don't you?

Are you sure about that?

She seemed pretty mad at the time.

Because she was. And I wasn't thrilled that she got hurt either. But that's different than blaming you for it.

Even though it was kind of a little my fault?

You fixed it as soon as you could, you promised not to do it again. You didn't pick who got what consequences of the spell. You offered your help when Superman asked. And I'm pretty sure you weren't the one who attacked my wife.

There's definitely someone to blame and we'll find them, I promise. But blaming each other isn't the way to do it.

...yeah, okay.
