[It is night, the very earliest of hours in the new day, and Louis is sitting in a dully lit room. The color of the light is a dull blue, and his face is mostly in shadow. The darkness outside and the blue-teal light give his white skin -- what can be seen of it -- a very unhealthy hue. However, his voice is soft and curious in tone, and welcoming in its calmness]
One of my most favorite of memories of my home were the crawfish. Platters full of bright red crawfish, freshly caught, steaming and soon to be bathed in seasoned butter.
[Being in the Water district has brought these distant memories back and they make him smile slightly as he thinks on it. He couldn't now remember what crawfish tasted like but he remembered that he had enjoyed it.]
Do they have here what any of you recall fondly from your own homes? More surprising to me is not what all is different here, but how much is so similar, to what I once knew.

What do you consider to be the youth of the world, what does that mean to you?
no subject
I would suppose any younger than myself. Here in my thirties I find the world endlessly unbearable. [ Sadly, he's not even sure he is in his 30's anymore.]

It does tend to be, does it not? The silver-lining in life is ever elusive.
As to the other piece of your comment, what kinds of classical music do you enjoy?
no subject
[ He was amused with the conversation. It was nice to talk without having the feeling of people judging your views.]
I am partial to Mozart and Bach, violin is where my heart truly lies. Yourself?
no subject
For composers, there are so many. Let me think.
[Louis turns his head to the side, looking to the distance as he thinks on the music of his youth which would now be considered of the classic period.]
Vivaldi. Ah, Edvard Grieg, he has some truly beautiful pieces I could listen to for days.

[ He explained, listening.]
I am quite fond of Four Seasons, and In The Hall Of The Mountain King is a favorite as well. You have fine taste... I never caught your name.

[With the French pronunciation, Louie.]
I... know only the basics of piano, I was never much proficient in it. [He loved listening to Lestat's playing far more than he had ever had the desire to learn himself.]
And your name? Are you using a, handset?
no subject
[ Not that theres another Virgil worth mentioning but he feels best adding that.]
Something like a headset, it is a mobile phone. I am told the welcome center is still giving some away. There is no video but you can use it on the go.
Sadly, I do not think there is a piano here. Even violins seem to be rare.

A mobile phone. Very clever idea.
If piano and violin are rare are there other instruments here? Is there music the locals of this city enjoy that is enjoyable to an Earth ear?
no subject
Very clever indeed. I am told these models are outdated, as fancy as they seem. The wonders that people can do, I suppose.
Well, before my brother vanished, he had something close to a guitar that is likely floating around. His belongings were dispersed when he vanished. I have seen other instruments that are not so displeasing but look strange. I am in the market for a violin as it were.

[So many long and peaceful years were spent with Lestat in which he would, softly and obtrusively in his way, ask his lover to play the piano for him. They were some of the best memories he had, and even now he would wax nostalgic to listen to him.
The memory even now gives him a somber smile.]
How long have you played?
no subject
[ This guy doesn't annoy him just by breathing. This was rare, and he was certainly enjoying the conversation.]
Since I was around 3 or 4 years of age, my mother insisted Myself and my brother both take up an instrument. My father played violin, so naturally I choose it myself. My brother is a Attention hungry type, he plays guitar... and drums... anything loud.
[ he actually missed him... opps.]
And what of you? Do you play anything?
audio;
Dear God, spare me from 'classical' enthusiasts.
audio;
[For what constitutes as a vampire's heart, Louis thinks with some self-deprecation]
Who is this?
audio;
[Solomon's tone is sardonic.]
Solomon Wreath. You do realise that most 'classical' music is tantamount to pop music, just from another era?
