I have something to tell you all, and some of you might not believe me.

[Valdis' voice is hesitant, halting and uncertain]

There are very few of us left, it seems, who remember Malicant's reign or the atrocities committed by his followers. The death, the taint, the drugs and the suffering inflicted upon foreigner and Kedan alike is unknown to all of our newcomers. But this isn't just about that.

[A long pause, followed by an audible breath]

I have recently discovered that Milyn, the Cherrywood Healer, was involved with the Cultists. She reported directly to Daseng and created the drug known as Dust, as well as the base for Lucid.

[Another pause and then a low growl.]

She was our only ally among the Kedan when we first returned from the Dreaming, she aided us in defeating Malicant...but she also helped him wreak his havoc in the first place.

[Another growl]

I don't know about all of you, but I can't trust her anymore.

If you had been here during Malicant's time, you wouldn't be saying that...

I can't speak for that. But considering things that happened in my home world, I feel like I would still be saying this, had I been here since the start.

I'm not saying we need to turn a blind eye for what she did...that would be just as stupid as making a public radio feed. I'm saying we need to give her another chance; something everyone deserves.

[redlightgreenlight]

I'm not saying she doesn't deserve another chance, but my trust is not easily earned, especially after it has been broken. Go ahead and be her friend if you like, the only purpose of my saying anything was simply to inform, not to tell people how to feel about it.

[omnivident]

I'm just saying that maybe you were too rash in...making this sort of announcement. I'm not going to be her friend either, but I at least want her to have a chance to defend herself when someone's screaming 'traitor!' over the system.

The word 'traitor' has only been said by you.

It's what your feelings are implying. If you didn't feel betrayed, then why would you say that you can't trust her anymore?

Are you saying I'm not allowed to feel a certain way just because others might disagree? That I'm not allowed to express those feelings to people whom I consider my family?

[omnivident]

I'm not saying that! What I'm saying is that you are calling her a traitor. Maybe not directly, but you're doing that. You have a right to be angry. You have a right to feel like she broke your trust-- but this is the wrong way to go about it.
