[video/console]
If I understand this right, there could be people here I know, despite that I could swear I just talked to them at home, right? [Luke frowns, looking rather tired as he runs a hand through his hair, sitting at the console in the Welcome Center.] In that case, if anyone knows if Leia Organa or... [A pause, because does it work if the last you knew someone was frozen in carbonite and basically in coma?] Han Solo are here, please tell me. Or tell them Luke's looking for them.
[He smiles briefly, his expression brightening a little in general. Something strikes him then, though, and Luke's gaze lowers for a moment, frowning at something out of view before he looks up again.]
Aside from that, I'd like to know what sort of prosthesis are available, and the tools to repair them. Or if the tools could be adjusted for already existing ones. I don't need any of that at the moment, but you never know.
[Better be as prepared as he can, before something happens, for once. Especially in a new place. He's had his new hand not two weeks yet, and he's very, very aware of it... which is probably why this occurred to him at all.]

no subject
I think I'm jealous, that looks really practical. [Luke grinned, then shook his head.] Thanks for coming.
action
It is.
[Although, the moment her (fairly tiny) form touched ground, she began to walk with smooth, graceful motions. Her metallic components hardly hindering movement in the slightest.]
You are most welcome. I am glad that I might be able to be of service again; it was not long prior that I was requested to scan an individual's unique weaponry for potential for duplication in this realm.
action
Being able to help is nice yes. [Luke smiled, and tried not to think about the last time he tried to go help his friends, considering how that had ended.
Did it work out for them? [Luke asked mostly out of curiosity while he offered his right hand up; that wasn't exactly the same as this, but it was worth asking.]
action
It did. Despite the rare power source, which he was able to provide, the necessary alloy components in creating the structural base of his light saber hilt are not difficult to replicate.
action
[Luke blinked, surprised.]
I mean, if it's the same thing I'm thinking of, I agree, I think the components are pretty common, but--- It was someone who wanted to make a lightsaber?
[He's not sure why he's so interested - he can't make one here anyway, not without the crystal, the other parts being able to be reproduced or not.]
action
However, I was, admittedly, pleasantly surprised to find similarities between it and my own power source.
[Not many, but the self-replenishing feature, in particular, was notable.]
Lightsaber was the name given to me by the individual who made the request, yes.
action
Similarities?
[Luke smiled, instantly interested... if only on a technical standpoint, but also because he was curious about Aya herself as well.]
action
[So she did. Purposely taking a step back before emitting a small amount of green energy from her palm. The light twisted and warped before solidifying into the image of a light saber. Only solid, rather than continuously emitting a heated laser energy.]
action
That's impressive. How are you doing it? Redirecting power, or do you have reserves put aside for this?
action
It is the same Green Energy as most of my body was created from. I need only to will what shape I desire, and it will form.
[Once she was certain Luke had gotten a decent look, she pulled the energy back inside her, and the sword vanished.]
There are several other uses for it as well, but that would, perhaps, be the most relevant to this conversation.
action
[Who knows, maybe she looks similar to a droid for a reason.]
action
I chose this form, albeit more from convenience at the time than any personal preference.
While it is possible for me to alter my appearance...I have come to be quite reluctant to do so. It would feel...wrong, somehow.
[It had been Ilana's face once, yes, but it was as much hers now as anyone else's. Even Razer had accepted her over time.]
action
[Nodding, he smiled briefly.]
Not so strange you don't really want to change it, I don't think I would want to either, even if I could.
action
I believe we are in full agreement there. [Although, on the subject of physical forms...] Would you like me to perform the scan now?
action
Hopefully this'll end up an unnecessary precaution, but you never know...
action; you're welcome to choose what Aya analyzes/discovers, if anything
[With that, Aya's eyes began to glow. As did the palm of her hand. A beam of neon green light shot forth, which Aya proceeded to run up and down the arm several times. Scanning both the components, as well as the wiring. To determine materials required for future repairs, as well as any potential necessities in knowledge of the arm's programming.]
action; :D Sure. I hope that works.
It didn't really have much programming as such; merely a throttle 'intelligent' enough to recognise unintentional motion and to cut down the strength, since the cybernetic was capable of more than his normal hand would be, and while the wiring would probably be familiar enough, the durasteel in the delicate struts that made up the 'bones' probably registered as different from normal, Earth-type steel.]
Usually the problem comes down to the fact that we've got too many precautions we should take, and not enough resources... and then something we couldn't guard against goes wrong instead.
[Luke shook his head and snorted; sometimes he wished things could go wrong in ways that they could immediately fix with the precautions they had been able to take.]
action;
The wiring structure would be exceedingly simple to operate and even reprogram, if necessary.
However...my concern lies in the mineral compounds. There are...adequate substitutes, should it come to that, but I am not certain I can guarantee the same structural integrity should a significant portion of your arm sustain damage in the future.
action;
The wiring is probably more critical anyway, so the sensory and motor input remains as close to functional as possible.
[Looking up, he smiled.]
I'd rather have it work as close to normal, if something happened and it'd have to be repaired, rather than that it's as durable as it is now. Thank you.
[He should probably prioritise durability, but what would that help if it got damaged and just couldn't be repaired to work properly again? Better the wiring and programming could be replicated rather than the durasteel in the bones.]
action;
[Who knows? Maybe, at some future landfall, they might come upon an item or resource of the metal. It would not be the first time elements from "home" mysteriously appeared in locations they traveled to.]
action;
[Nodding, Luke offered his hand up again.]
If we're lucky enough and you end up being able to reproduce it, or it can be imitated somehow, I'm not the only one it can help, after all. More durable metal is never a bad idea.
action;
[A nod of confirmation when she was done.]
Thank you.
This has been a most informative meeting.
action;
[Rubbing his wrist, though not because there was actually anything to feel from the two scans, Luke cocked his head.]
Ah... would you be willing to show me what you could do, with that green energy? Not now, necessarily, but I'm curious.
[Asking couldn't hurt, right?]
action;
Certainly. Although there are many different talents which my Green Lantern energy has been able to provide me with. In addition to flight, it serves as an automatic language translator. I am innately fluent in every language known to the Guardians of Oa's records.
[...as well as strongly resistant to most forms of mind control, although Aya herself was not fully aware of precisely how resistant.]
I can also manipulate the energy into a solidified, physical manifestation of most any object or weapon I can think to create.
action;
The automatic translater must be really useful at home for you, even if it's not really necessary here, I notice.
