While I appreciate the welcome, and the information, I have to say that I am unimpressed with the method by which I was brought.

[ Meaning, she’s a little salty right now. ]

I don’t suppose there is a school I could teach at is there? I can translate four languages, speak two, and have a doctorate in Irish history.

[ She’s hoping there’s some call for her skills somewhere in this place. ]

If not, I also have some skill with Krav Maga and could, potentially, teach that, if there’s some call for it. Basically, I wish to teach. If someone could direct me to a few opportunities, I’d be grateful.

Krav Maga is Israeli, actually. It was developed for their Defense Forces.

Why Irish history in particular?

Well, I was interested in the ancient history. It's more folklore than history. Hence the ability to speak Gaeilge.

[Someone -- Skulduggery doesn't quite remember who -- mentioned once that the turtle seems to have an affinity for Ireland. He dismissed the claim at the time as the joke it undoubtedly was, but now he can't help wondering.]

If you're teaching Krav Maga, there's a dojo that teaches self-defense to the kedan and Foreigners. I don't know if they're looking to take on any more instructors at the moment, but you might try there.

Irish history... I don't know that there's quite so much call for that, here. [Sounding very amused at that last bit]

There isn't much call at home, either, but I can teach Gaelic as well. Latin's a stretch, but perhaps a beginner class. And Ogham... Well, I can't speak it at all, though I can translate it.

Gaeilge, Latin and Ogham. And Krav Maga. That's quite the resume you have. How does one go about collecting that particular skill-set, if you don't mind me asking?

Quite a few things. I've never been able to make most sweet bakes. My brownies always turn out like rocks.

Well, there's probably not a lot of demand for learning languages that no one else in this universe speaks. Especially with the translation magic. Or learning the history of a country that doesn't exist here. [Just sayin'.]

But if you can pick up Kedanese writing, some Foreigners might want to learn that. Writing doesn't get auto-translated. And Krav Maga's some kind of martial art, right? There's a Foreigner-run dojo that might be able to take on another instructor.

Actually, I've found quite a few Gaelic speakers, so that's something at least.

I was thinking of looking into the native language though. When in Rome and all that.

You're some kind of seriously impressive. I don't think the College covers the subjects you know, but they probably wouldn't turn down another teacher.

Now I'm ashamed of being so lazy. Then again, I don't think I could bring myself to serve some unknown army in a strange land.

Still, being a teacher must be different. Your loyalty certainly seems to be with students everywhere, no matter which land it is. I'm almost envious of that.

I wouldn't call it laziness, just perhaps a different path? Not many would have followed my path, that's for certain.

I like teaching. Translating is my true passion, though.
