Now that I'm much better acquainted with this place I will be opening my own consulting detective business. The basis of my operation is this: 1. If you have an interesting problem that you cannot solve on your own then you may feel free to contact me and we'll discuss its potential. 2. Tell me in every detail possible about your problem. Leaving nothing out. 3. From the details you provide I will offer a deduction or decide if further investigation is necessary. If you have an interest in consulting me then there are a few things to keep in mind. 1. I will charge all my clients the same amount. More money is not an incentive. 2. If you cannot afford the designated charge I am open to negotiating the price. 3. I won't waste my time on adultery cases. 4. I will not accept anonymous clients. On that that note, with my work it is likely I'll be far too busy to keep up the apartment and all the shopping. If you would like a job as a house keeper you may apply below, however there are a few key traits I'm looking for in any potentials. 1. Must be able to follow orders. 2. Able to make tea and coffee 3. Willing to do the necessary shopping 4. A strong stomach, not at all squeamish 5. No sort of history involving the abuse (of any kind) of children. -Sherlock Holmes

[ Okay, that is a little too precise. He hadn't even mentioned the seven percent solution to Conan, nor his address back home. ]

With that many points in common, a complete coincidence is unlikely.

And? What are you suggesting? That I'm some form of adaptation? I'm not a fictional character and I don't expect nor want you to think that I am. I don't know why my life parallels your book so much but the fact is that is does. So unless you're trying to convince yourself that I am this Sherlock Holmes that you so clearly idolize, it really shouldn't be an issue. SH

Even with some of the things I have encountered here, the idea of a fictional character being real is absurd.

I merely point out that it would be very unlikely for that many points of similarity to be a complete coincidence.

[Conan doesn't bother to say that such a point of similarity could be an interesting avenue of investigation, what with the many people here who claim to be from entirely different worlds. Let alone the Dreaming. If Sherlock hadn't encountered those stories yet and tested them for himself, there would be no point in mentioning it.]

That's a matter for investigation, isn't it?

Perhaps, but how would you purpose we do that? Do you want me to just go over every aspect of my life with you? SH

Obviously not. The connection is already there. Verifying the exact number of points of similarity would be interesting but not particularly useful. If there is anything, I would start by looking into what is known about the dreaming.
