Science I'm more willing to believe. [ It's a silent agreement. There's the sound of something hitting a table and spinning. ] Assuming we're clones-- [ And that's a huge leap ] --What I want to know is how they're getting the originals from.

That's the only reason we're talking. [Because sharing a face is weird. If Cobb was more the magic sort, Costigan would want nothing to do with him.]

We had to get here somehow, right? It wouldn't take much to knock us out, take some samples, and leave us where we are if our entire personality is cloned. If it's not.. either we're in a coma or a bad fuckin' dream. Maybe both.

[ A bad dream. Cobb hesitates. Maybe this is a result of his own behaviour--for all he knows, it might be. Maybe Costigan is some aspect of his own personality, branched off. Is that possible?

His eyes narrow, and he finally speaks.]

[Costigan chuckles a little, though he's not particularly amused.]

I don't know, guy. Not a lot of the shit here is possible or makes sense. If this is a dream? It's a fuckin' nightmare.

Both. But if we figure out why we're here we can better figure out how to leave. [ Beat. ] I'd be alright with not knowing anything about the cloning labs if I was back where I came from.

I imagine we'd be given tasks by now other than part-time jobs.
